QB Michael Vick (ATL) practiced on Thursday and has been upgraded to probable on the injury report. Barring a setback, he is expected to start in week three. [Thu Sep 22, 8:10 PM]

QB Michael Vick (ATL) tweaked his hamstring in week two and is questionable for week three. He did not practice on Wednesday but hopes to play against Buffalo: "As long as I'm getting mental reps, I think I'll be able to go out there and execute the game plan." Matt Schaub took the practice reps in place of Vick on Wednesday. Vick said he may not know until Sunday whether he'll be able to go: "Basically, we're going to play it by ear and see how it goes. I'll probably make the final decision. I'm the only one who knows how bad I'm hurting and knows what I can't and can do. I've got to be able to move around. That's a big part of my game, a big part of our package in what we do as an offense. If I can go out, move around, maneuver a little bit, maybe 80, 85, 90 percent, then I've got a great shot at going out there Sunday. . . I've got to be able to be me, that's all." [Wed Sep 21, 6:05 PM]

I won’t be limited in any way come Sunday.” [Fri Sep 23, 5:40 PM]

QB Byron Leftwich (JAX) practiced fully on Thursday and still expects to play in week three despite his injured groin. [Thu Sep 22, 8:02 PM]

QB Byron Leftwich (JAX) suffered a groin strain against the Colts, but that won’t be enough to keep him on the sidelines. While he did not practice on Wednesday, he is expected to play in week three. ''I`m fine. I`ll be ready to play Sunday,'' he said. Coach Jack Del Rio said, "Byron looks good, feels good. We remain optimistic he'll be able to play. He's a tough guy. He's responding well." [Wed Sep 21, 5:59 PM]

QB Daunte Culpepper (MIN) has a slight knee injury, but the team does not expect it to be a problem for him. He is expected to start as usual in week three. [Wed Sep 21, 5:54 PM]

QB Tom Brady (NE) shows up on the injury report again as probable with a right shoulder injury. As we said last week, this is not a concern (the same thing happened weekly in 2004). He practiced as normal on Wednesday and will start week three against the Steelers as normal. [Wed Sep 21, 5:52 PM]

QB Donovan McNabb (PHI) practiced on Friday. He has been upgraded to probable and is expected to start as normal in week three. [Fri Sep 23, 5:42 PM]

QB Donovan McNabb (PHI) practiced fully on Thursday and (barring a setback) is expected to start as normal in week three. [Thu Sep 22, 8:04 PM]

QB Donovan McNabb (PHI) is listed as questionable for week three with a sore groin but says he'll play. “If we had to play today, I’d be out there. If we had to play tomorrow, I’d be out there,” McNabb said. “It’s just an opportunity to take advantage of the time … I have an opportunity to treat and eliminate some of the soreness and get ready for this weekend.” McNabb said the injury happened toward the end of the 49er game: “It tightened up during the game, toward the end of the game before I went out. I woke up, and there was a little bit of pain there," McNabb said. "It's not serious to the [point where] I'd take myself out. It's serious enough that you have to pay attention to it, and that's exactly what we're doing it."

[Wed Sep 21, 6:00 PM]

QB Ben Roethlisberger (PIT) practiced on Friday and is expected to start as normal in week three. [Fri Sep 23, 5:45 PM]

RB Stephen Davis (CAR) was not mentioned after the game as having an injury but surprised folks when he did not practice on Wednesday. He is listed as questionable with a neck injury. He apparently suffered the injury during the win over New England. Watch to see if he can work Thursday and Friday. If he's limited, DeShaun Foster would see the carries.

[Wed Sep 21, 6:17 PM]

RB Lee Suggs (CLE) practiced again on Friday and is expected to see some action in week three. "Lee has been improving," coach Romeo Crennel said. "We have some spots where we can use him. I'm not going to say what they are." [Fri Sep 23, 5:47 PM]

RB Lee Suggs (CLE) practiced again on Thursday. However, the team still remains noncommittal on his status in week three. He says he's ready to go. "I'll be full-go in practice this week and I was full-go last week," he said. "I know I can do it, but it's not up to me." He knows he's behind Droughns and Green on the depth charts: "I have to start all over from the bottom," he said. [Thu Sep 22, 8:08 PM]

RB Mike Anderson (DEN) is still sore around his injured ribs, but says he'll keep playing through it. He'll start week three. He said he expects the ribs to eventually be better. "I don't expect it to be the entire year. We just have to see day to day," he said. "We'll just have to see. Right now, I don’t know. I just wish it would go away. It is what it is." Anderson also said the protective flak jacket partially contributed to his fumble: "You’re used to having the ball really tight on your hip, on the side of your stomach. And then you go from that feeling that you’re used to to having, and now the ball’s out with space and you've got a little air between and you can’t really feel it all the time against the side of your stomach."

[Wed Sep 21, 5:50 PM]

RB Tatum Bell (DEN) practiced on Friday and expected to be available in week three, but he will likely be a game-time decision. [Fri Sep 23, 5:34 PM]

RB Tatum Bell (DEN) practiced Thursday and could be on the field Monday night even though he's still listed as questionable. "He looks better," Head Coach Mike Shanahan said. "Hopefully he keeps on improving (and) he should be able to go." [Thu Sep 22, 10:27 PM]

RB Tatum Bell (DEN) tweaked his ankle against the Chargers on kick coverage and did not see carries in the game. Bell could get on the field this week. "I'm not sure exactly what it's at right now," coach Mike Shanahan said. "(Head Athletic Trainer) Steve (Antonopulos) thinks there's a chance -- maybe a good chance -- that he should be able to go by Thursday." [Wed Sep 21, 5:51 PM]

RB Michael Bennett (MIN) says he is not starting in week three. “I don’t know who’s starting,” Bennett said. “My coach told me I’m the minute man, so I guess that means I have to be ready any minute.” As mentioned earlier in the week, it appears that Mewelde Moore will get the nod. [Sat Sep 24, 11:16 AM]

RB Michael Bennett (MIN) could lose his starting position to Mewelde Moore if practice reps are any indication. Moore has been working with the first team in practice. Although with Mike Tice, anything is possible. [Fri Sep 23, 9:09 PM]

RB Michael Bennett (MIN) is once again the subject of trade rumors with the destination (once again) being the Arizona Cardinals. [Thu Sep 22, 7:57 PM]

RB Michael Bennett (MIN) So far in 2005, Bennett has totaled 35 rushing yards, 20 receiving yards, zero TDs, and two lost fumbles. The fumbles put him on the bench against the Bengals. You should do the same. [Mon Sep 19, 12:14 AM]

RB Mewelde Moore (MIN) looks to be the starter for Sunday. Michael Bennett will still see action but we're looking for Moore to start and see the majority of the carries if he can start off strong. [Sat Sep 24, 8:32 PM]

RB Mewelde Moore (MIN) has taken the majority of practice carries this week, so one might expect him to get the start in week three. However, we realize that HC Mike Tice is sometimes unconventional in his approach to the game. [Fri Sep 23, 5:43 PM]

RB B.J. Askew (NYJ) will not play in week three. [Fri Sep 23, 5:34 PM]

"I think we brought in a great running back in Derrick, who understands (pass) protection and knows how to run the football and is very tough and physical," quarterback Chad Pennington said. "I have great confidence in Derrick to be able to step in and do a great job." Still, Martin is expected to play, so don’t expect Blaylock to get 20+ touches. [Wed Sep 21, 5:52 PM]

RB Curtis Martin (NYJ) practiced again on Friday and is expected to start as normal in week three. [Fri Sep 23, 5:41 PM]

RB Curtis Martin (NYJ) is questionable with a sore knee, but the MRI results were negative for any ligament damage. He did not participate in Wednesday’s practice. He is expected to play in week three, but it would not be surprising to see his carries limited. Said coach Herm Edwards, "If he feels he can help the team win, Curtis Martin is going to play. He's never going to put the team in jeopardy." Derrick Blaylock should see more action against the Jaguars. [Wed Sep 21, 5:59 PM]

RB Lamar Gordon (PHI) Usually, players that are late additions to a team don't make much of an impact. Gordon with the Eagles is an exception. He is the team's short-yardage back and will get a good number of carries throughout the game. [Mon Sep 19, 12:10 AM]

RB Josh Parry (PHI) practiced on Friday and is expected to play in week three. [Fri Sep 23, 5:44 PM]

RB Brian Westbrook (PHI) did not practice on Friday and has been added to the injury report as probable. HC Andy Reid gave Westbrook the day off to rest his sore knee. "He was hit above the knee in the game. He worked the last two days. I gave him the day off just to let that thing rest up and have him ready for Sunday," Reid said. Westbrook is expected to start as normal in week three. [Fri Sep 23, 5:50 PM]

RB Jerome Bettis (PIT) is still rehabbing his injured calf and is not expected to play in week three. [Wed Sep 21, 6:06 PM]

RB Duce Staley (PIT) “looked very good” in Thursday’s practice according to HC Bill Cowher. He added, “There’s a good chance [Staley] may be able to participate Sunday.” Staley practiced again on Friday and seems to be on target to play in week three backing up starter Willie Parker. [Fri Sep 23, 5:47 PM]

RB Cadillac Williams (TB) practiced on Friday and is expected to start in week three. [Fri Sep 23, 5:50 PM]

RB Cadillac Williams (TB) partially practiced on Thursday and expects to play in week three. It is exactly what the team expected from him today. “He did a little more today,” said Head Coach Jon Gruden. “He’s making improvement. We expect him to be ready to go Sunday.” [Thu Sep 22, 8:10 PM]

RB Cadillac Williams (TB) rested his sprained left arch (injured against the Bills) Wednesday but should practice tomorrow and expects to play in week three. Additional tests Monday revealed no structural damage and Williams should be ready for Green Bay. "It's a little sore, but overall, it's feeling good and I'll be ready to go this week," Williams said. Said coach Jon Gruden, "He didn't practice full-speed. He'll practice [Thursday]."

WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (CIN) still is bothered a bit with his shoulder but is expected to play in week three. Note that he did OK with it against Minnesota (two TDs), so it’s probably not much of a concern. [Wed Sep 21, 5:57 PM]

WR Doug Gabriel (OAK) will move to the #3 WR with Ronald Curry's season ending Achilles' tendon injury. He thought his finger was healed enough to play last week but the coaching staff did not agree. "He was champing at the bit last week and we had a long discussion Friday," head coach Norv Turner said. "He was ready to go last week. It just wasn't the right timing for us. Certainly, we talked to him today. He's fine. This isn't the way he wanted to get back at it." [Thu Sep 22, 9:44 PM]

WR Terrell Owens (PHI) is listed as probable with what coach Andy Reid is calling a "groin abdominal stretch". He did not practice on Wednesday but is expected to play in week three. TE Bubba Franks (GB) has not practiced all week. He will likely be a game-time decision and could play this week without practicing. Friday, coach Mike Sherman sounded a little more optimistic. "I'm not going to list him as doubtful just yet because he still always makes a pitch to get on the field and has surprised me in the past," Sherman said. "We're hopeful." If he does play, Sherman said he'd likely be in a limited role. [Fri Sep 23, 5:38 PM]

TE Bubba Franks (GB) did not practice on Thursday and is looking very iffy to play in week three. [Thu Sep 22, 8:00 PM]

TE Bubba Franks (GB) suffered a knee sprain in week two. He did not practice on Wednesday and is questionable for this week’s game against the Buccaneers.
