notes misses: none
As some suspected in preseason, it's already looking like it could be along an unproductive year for Longwell.

The good news is that Brown has not yet missed a FG this year. The bad news is he hasn't attempted any.
 Ind Mike Vanderjagt 10 20 10 24 11 20 5.0 20 4.0 6.0 7.8 3 8.9 6.6 2.0 2 1.00 1.16 CLE 4.0 3.5 1
notes misses: none
Vanderjagt at home vs. the Browns on the road should produce kicking points.
 Jac Josh Scobee 17 7 23 2 19 8 8.5 7 14.0 3.0 5.8 23 5.3 6.4 3.0 4 0.75 0.83 @NYJ 3.0 5.8 28

notes misses: none
Other than two kickoffs, Edinger was on the sidelines all of the last game. He should see a little more work this week.
 NE Adam Vinatieri 11 14 12 20 12 16 5.5 14 6.0 5.0 8.8 1 8.6 9.0 5.5 15 0.68 0.69 @PIT 5.0 5.5 12

notes misses: 28B
Nugent didn't slip in week two, but he'll still need more opportunities from the offense to get a chance to meet expectations.
 Oak Sebastian Janikowski 7 24 13 19 7 25 3.5 24 5.0 2.0 6.6 13 8.0 5.3 8.5 26 0.99 0.80 @PHI 2.0 6.0 26
notes misses: 43WL, 50WL
Known for his leg strength, Janikowski has missed two longer FGs and has zero touchbacks on kickoffs.
 Phi David Akers 10 20 19 4 11 20 5.0 20 6.0 4.0 7.6 5 7.8 7.5 2.5 3 0.87 0.85 OAK 6.0 3.8 17
notes misses: 49SH, 49WR, 43LU.  It appears that Akers will probably be well enough to kick this week despite an injured hamstring. The Eagles signed Todd France to the practice squad just in case.
 Pit Jeff Reed 19 3 19 4 20 6 9.5 3 10.0 9.0 7.8 3 7.8 7.8 1.0 1 0.84 0.96 NE 10.6 5.3 19

notes misses:  no FG attempts yet
The odds are in Brown's favor this week.  no team in the NFL went more than two consecutive games last year without a FG attempt.
 SF Joe Nedney 7 24 7 27 7 25 3.5 24 4.0 3.0 4.8 30 5.3 4.4 9.5 30 1.32 1.02 DAL 4.0 6.5 27

NOTES:
1. All stats are based on Standard Scoring of 3 points for field goals and 1 point for extra points
(except for the Bonus Total column which increases 40-49 yard FG's to 4 points, and FG's of 50 yards and over to 5 points)
2. "Attempted" = maximum number of kicking points the team could have had if they made every kick
3. The Kdefensive "factors" are the median by which teams allow kicking points, as compared to their opponents average scoring
(i.e. smaller numbers under 1.0 equal better kicking defense, larger numbers over 1.0 = not so good)
4.  Weekly matchup numbers: the "Mathematical Projection I" is the "Kscoring" multiplied by the "Kdefensive Factor"
Mathematical Projection II is simply the average of the Kicking ppg scored and the Kicking points allowed by the opponent
5. Misses key: SH = short, WR = wide right, WL = wide left, CR = cross bar, RU = right upright, LU = left upright, B = blocked, T = tipped
