Quarterback
Brunell suffered a knee injury during the game on Saturday, and is scheduled to have an MRI. He was fitted with a brace and attempted to keep playing after the injury, but could not make it back on the field. Patrick Ramsey played well in relief of Brunell, and could be under center this week if Brunell's MCL is badly sprained. On Monday, Brunell characterized his injury status as "day-to-day", saying ""It's a day-to-day thing. I had an MRI today. It feels better than it did on Saturday and I think each day I'll improve a little bit more."
Frye ended up his miserable game vs. Pittsburgh by suffering a head trauma (getting his bell rung) - the guy was sacked 8 times by Pittsburgh. Ouch. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along. Frye is also dinged up in the ribs and has a sore ankle - his status for the season finale is not yet clear.
Byron Leftwich's ankle injury kept him out of the game on Saturday, as expected. He is planning to practice on Wednesday, and may be available for the season finale - Leftwich and Garrard owners will want to check Leftwich's status later in the week.
Losman missed the game on Saturday due to his injured shoulder - he was active, but did not play step onto the field.
Maddox was inactive on Saturday after being listed as probable to play (illness). He's in the doghouse with coach Cowher and probably would have been inactive even if fully healthy.
McNair was forced out of the game vs Miami on Saturday due to a painful strained pectoral muscle that hampered his throwing. "I already had hurt the team bad enough with two interceptions in the first half," McNair said after the game. "I just wanted to come out and give Billy a chance." McNair says he plans to play in the season finale - he'll be evaluated as the week goes along.
Palmer tweaked his groin during the game vs. Buffalo, but the injury doesn't look serious as of Monday. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.

The swelling is bad enough that he is unlikely to practice or play this week, according to sources from the Denver area. ""It kind of got rolled...I don't like that, I don't like that at all. With Antonio Pierce and Carlos Emmons also likely to be out due to injury, the Giants are very thin at LB.
