Quarterback
Bulger missed another game on Sunday due to his injured shoulder (doubtful on Friday's injury report). With a bye-week ahead in which to heal up, the team hopes Bulger can go in their next game.
Culpepper suffered another right knee injury on Sunday (he injured the knee originally during the season opener) Said coach Tice Sunday, "The quarterback doesn't appear to be in good shape. I'm not a doctor, but the initial tests are not good. It doesn't appear that it's going to be anything that we as Vikings will want to hear. Things happen that are devastating. This certainly, if it's as serious as it appears, is devastating to our football team."
Today, the team confirmed that Culpepper is lost for the season -- damage to the ACL, MCL and PCL was detected by an MRI, although the full extent of the damage isn't yet clear according to coach Tice "We’ll have to wait a couple of weeks for the swelling to go down and get prepared for surgery in the next few weeks. It’s discouraging to us based on everything that has transpired to this point in the season."
If all three ligaments are severly damaged, Culpepper could be in for a very extended rehabilitation time-frame, but it is too early to say anything substantive regarding time-frame for a return to the field.
Trent Dilfer reported memory loss after the game vs. Houston "I honestly don't remember that play (a sack). "I got my bell rung (on the sack). I know I was trying to get the ball out. I knew we couldn't take a sack." - obviously, Dilfer suffered some sort of head trauma - the team will evaluate him further as the week goes along.
