The Bulldogs were 23 point underdogs to the mighty Trojans and they gave them everything they could handle. Matt Leinart had a good day passing the football, but this game was all about the dominance of Reggie Bush. It looks as though Matt will have a tough time repeating as a Heisman Trophy winner.

Omar returned after a 2 game absence and had a good day versus a tough Redhawk defense. His completion percentage was abnormally low as Omar looked to shake off the rust. He seemed to be in better sync with his receivers in the 2nd half and looks to make a full comeback in the coming weeks.

Bill Snyder said good-bye to the Wildcat fans in what was his last game at Manhattan, Kansas. The K-State defense held the Tigers scoreless in the 4th quarter but Smith did most of his damage early in the game. He had a great day passing the football and was still effective running the football. Brad Smith has played most of his career in the shotgun formation and scouts believe that he will make a position switch to wide receiver in the NFL.

Reggie Bush, RB, USC Trojans

I could write 100 pages on Reggie Bush and his monster game versus Fresno State. He set a Pac-10 record with 513 all-purpose yards and was a factor in every facet of the game. He could've played defense in this game and been a superstar. He was in the zone and it clearly showed on the field. He did the classic (Marshall Faulk patented) "matador" move on the sidelines and that allowed him to reach the endzone. That wasn't the only time as Bush scored 2 rushing TDs, had 68 yards receiving, and had 151 yards returning. As Emmitt Smith said on Total Access, anyone that doesn't vote for Reggie Bush is stealing the Heisman from him. Let's hope the voters get this one right as Bush keeps showing the he is clearly the best player in college football.

DeAngelo had a bunch of carries versus Southern Miss and once again went over the century mark (the 8th time this season). It was his lowest output since the opening game versus Mississippi when he only ran for 85 yards. He did show off his toughness with some gritty running late in the game. Williams also was able to show some good receiving skills on a 29 yard reception.

LenDale gave way to the Reggie Bush show. Bush was simply on fire and racked up almost 300 yards rushing and over 500 all-purpose yards. White scored another goalline touchdown and ground out some tough yards on a few carries for the mighty Trojans. White is also showing a great nose for the endzone and the ability to pick up tough yards in short yardage situations.

Laurence Maroney never got a chance to get going in the Gophers game against the Hawkeyes. Late in the 1st quarter he re-aggravated the ankle injury that has limited his productivity in recent weeks. It was a disappointing way for Maroney to finish the regular season for Minnesota. Laurence still figures to be a top prospect in the 2006 NFL draft.

Nance had another solid game versus Bowling Green. Strong storms delayed the game at Oxford, Ohio and it turned out to be the Falcon offense that was rolling strong at the end of the game. It didn't help that Miami (OH) QB Josh Betts threw a career high 5 interceptions in this game. So far in 2005 Nance has 13 touchdown catches and is averaging a decent 14 yards per reception.

The Sooner defense did a good job of covering Hicks for most of the day. They couldn't keep him out of the endzone though and the #21 ranked Red Raiders beat a disheveled Oklahoma team. Hicks finished his shortened season (he missed the first game due to suspension) with 62 receptions and really blossomed into the deep threat that everyone thought he would become.

It was a foggy day for a Civil War. This wasn't just regular fog, and visibility was very poor in this tough game featuring the Beavers versus the Ducks. Mike Hass was a big factor in this game and caught 10 passes despite the conditions. Mike has 90 catches for 1,532 yards in 2005 and will be one of the first receivers taken the draft.

Steve Smith started the game with an easy drop on a slant route. He more than made up for that drop later and was part of the reason that USC extended its record winning streak. Smith seemed to get back on track with this game and seemed more focused after that early drop. Now USC will see if they can stay unbeaten versus a hungry UCLA team.
