Contest Rules

There will be no draft. A subscriber simply chooses a team from the pre-determined values. Roster selection can be changed until the deadline passes (12:01 AM (ET) Wednesday, September 6th) at which point it will be frozen. No roster moves are permitted once the contest starts.

Each participant will be able to choose any player from the pulldown lists as long as the team is at or below the cap value of $250. Players not on the pull down lists are not available.

Each team will select a predetermined number of players. These are:

  • 3 QBs
  • 5 RBs
  • 7 WRs
  • 2 TEs
  • 2 PKs
  • 2 Defenses

Each selection has a different cap value, but all teams must remain at or under the $250 cap. Note: Even though the software should show you if you are within the cap, it is your responsibility to ensure you have a team that is valued at $250 or less. Teams that have spent more than the $250 will be disqualified in week 1.

You must select all the positions to be a valid entry. For example: Submitting 4 WRs constitutes an invalid lineup and will be disqualified.

You may not select the same player more than once. For example: Submitting a lineup with two Steve Smiths will be disqualified.

Each week your top QB, top 2 RBs, top 3 WRs, top TE, top PK and top Defense will count towards your weekly total. You do not have to select who will play. You will receive the maximum score based on your roster.

Contest will be Survivor style through week 12. By survivor style, we mean that only the high scores for JUST THAT WEEK advance to the next round. Scores reset each week.

From week 13 through week 16, the top 500 teams will score points each week. The winner will be the team that accumulates the most total points in these 4 weeks. All 500 teams that advance to the final will have their scores reset so only the results from weeks 13 through 16 will count.

Each submision is tied in with your login so you can edit and tweak all the way until 12:01 AM ET September 6th. Your last submit will be your final roster.

The weekly cutoffs are as follows:

Week 1 trim to 12,000 teams (all advance if we have less entries)
Week 2 trim to 10,000 teams
Week 3 trim to 8,000 teams
Week 4 trim to 7,000 teams
Week 5 trim to 6,000 teams
Week 6 trim to 5,000 teams
Week 7 trim to 4,000 teams
Week 8 trim to 3,000 teams
Week 9 trim to 2,000 teams
Week 10 trim to 1,500 teams
Week 11 trim to 1,000 teams
Week 12 trim to 500 teams

Scoring will be calculated to one decimal place (Example: 106.8)

[Clarification (11/1): individual player scores will be calculated to one decimal place using the rounding method implemented by our database software, and then team scores will be computed by adding the individual player scores.]

Rule change for the final 500 teams (12/2): Scoring will be calculated to two decimal places (no rounding).

Player Scoring (QB, RB, WR, TE)
Passing TDs = 4 points
Interceptions Thrown = -1 points
Rushing TD = 6 points
Receiving TD = 6 points
Passing Yardage = .05 points per yard
Rushing Yardage = .10 points per yard
Receiving Yardage = .10 points per yard
Receptions for RB, WR and TE = 1.0 points
No points scored for 2 point conversions

Kicker Scoring (PK)
Field Goal Made = 3 points
Extra Point Made = 1 point

Defense Scoring (Def)
Sack = 1 point
Interception = 2 points
Fumble Recovery = 2 points
Safety = 2 points
Defensive/ST TD = 6 points (Kickoff return, punt return, blocked FG return, blocked punt return, interception return, fumble recovery return)

All scoring is determined final when posted regardless if the NFL later changes the data. Weekly results will be published on Tuesday morning following the completion of all games.

Ties in all rounds prior to the 500 cutoff will advance. For final standings, tiebreakers will be used for exact four week totals.

1st tiebreaker - Total points of all players rostered in weeks 13-16
2nd tiebreaker - Total points of all WRs rostered in weeks 13-16
3rd tiebreaker - Total points of all RBs rostered in weeks 13-16
4th tiebreaker - Total points of all QBs rostered in weeks 13-16
5th tiebreaker - Total points of all TEs rostered in weeks 13-16
6th tiebreaker - Total points of all PKs rostered in weeks 13-16
7th tiebreaker - Total points of all Defs rostered in weeks 13-16
8th tiebreaker - Coinflip

Draft positions for that event will be allocated by order of finish in this year's contest (ie 1st spot drafts from the #1 hole).

1st Place: $5,000
2nd Place: $3,000
3rd Place: $2,000

Full details on the rules to the second half of this contest will be made available to the top 12 finishers at the end of this year.
