JAX - WR Mike Thomas likely will be No. 1 WR

Source: Jaguars.com - John Oehser

Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Gene Smith said that WR Mike Thomas likely will be the team's No. 1 wide receiver next season.

Thomas is a good late round sleeper to be a bye week/injury filler WR, but he is unlikely to put up big numbers in the run-first Jags offense.

DAL - Jerry Jones not worried about WR Dez Bryant

Source: NFL Network - Albert Breer

Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones said he is not concerned about WR Dez Bryant during the offseason because Jones does not think Bryant would do anything to hurt himself or his teammates with his behavior. 'I think that Dez does have accountability right now, not only within himself, but also to his teammates. And at the end of the day, those two constituencies, Dez himself as well as his teammates, are the ones that are gonna make the biggest difference in his life. So he's in the right area for the right type of influence, and I think that will have a positive impact,' Jones said.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sounds more like Jerry is saying he hopes Dez gets the message than he's confident that Dez has gotten the message. Still, Bryant is the wide receiver most likely to make a leap like the one Hakeem Nicks made last year.

NYJ - Expected to bring back WR Santonio Holmes

Source: NFL Network - Albert Breer

The New York Jets fully expect to re-sign impending free-agent WR Santonio Holmes once the lockout is over.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Holmes will get a long-term deal and enter the season as the Jets #1 WR. He is underrated in redraft and dynasty leagues right now.

NYJ - Owner believes WR Randy Moss has superstar talent

Source: NFL Network - Albert Breer

New York Jets owner Woody Johnson said he believes that Tennessee Titans impending free-agent WR Randy Moss has superstar talent and has admired Moss' skill. 'There's no question that Randy Moss has the capability, has the God-given talent to be a superstar, and he has been a superstar, particularly with the Patriots,' Johnson said. 'That's about all I can say about him, other than I admire his skill and what he's accomplished during those years.' The Jets have been rumored to be interested in Moss once the lockout is over.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Every day brings another item that makes a Jets-Moss marriage seem inevitable. He's worth a late-round pick just to see what happens.

NFL - QB Kurt Warner feels players need to give in to get new CBA

Source: USAToday.com - Jim Corbett

Retired QB Kurt Warner said he believes that the players need to give in and compromise on some issues in order to get a new collective bargaining agreement done. 'I'm still optimistic that they're going to find a way to make sure there's football,' Warner said. 'The players have too much to lose. And as much as I hate to say it, at some point, the players have to give in. And, hopefully, they can gain some other things on their side.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

DeMaurice Smith is probably wishing Warner had kept his opinion to himself.

JAX - Jarrett Dillard expected to compete for No. 3 WR job

Source: Jaguars.com - John Oehser

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Jarett Dillard is expected to compete for the No. 3 wide receiver job during training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Dillard has flashed a little in very limited playing time during his first two years, but he has spent most of his career injured on the sidelines. He's worth a roster spot in very deep dynasty leagues, but his star is dimming.

SEA - Unlikely to trade for QB Kyle Orton

Source: ESPN.com - Mike Sando

The Seattle Seahawks likely will not trade for Denver Broncos QB Kyle Orton because they likely will not be willing to trade what it would take to get Orton.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Seattle had the opportunity to take Andy Dalton or Colin Kaepernick in the first round and they didn't, so it's unlikely that they would give a future second (the likely price for Orton) for a QB who won't be their franchise signalcaller.

DAL - Had interest in Mark Ingram

Source: ESPNDallas.com - Calvin Watkins

The Dallas Cowboys had interest in RB Mark Ingram during the 2011 NFL Draft but were not able to trade down in the first round in order to pick up an extra second round pick. The Cowboys would have used that second round pick to trade back into the first round in order to take Ingram. Ingram was taken by the New Orleans Saints in the first round.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

More proof that the Cowboys are just not solid on Felix Jones or Tashard Choice as potential everydown backs.

MIA - QB Chad Henne expects to compete for starting QB job

Source: NationalFootballPost.com - Aaron Wilson

Miami Dolphins QB Chad Henne expects to have competition at some point for the teamís starting quarterback position. 'Absolutely I think every quarterback unless youíre Tom Brady or Peyton Manning or Aaron Rodgers has to compete in each and every camp before the season starts,' Henne said. 'So, I believe Iím going to compete and do whatever I can to become that starter again.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The question is who will Henne have to compete with? Kyle Orton and Marc Bulger are both possibilities, and Carson Palmer could become a Dolphins if Bengals owner Mike Brown backs down from his insistence that he won't deal Palmer.

PHI - Will do what's best for QB Kevin Kolb

Source: Philadelphia Daily News - Les Bowen

Philadelphia Eagles QB Kevin Kolb said he texted head coach Andy Reid during the brief thaw in the NFL lockout last month, and Reid said he will do what's best for Kolb. 'He does that for all his players and all his coaches,' Kolb said. 'That's what makes him great, that's why he's been around as long as any coach that's coaching right now.' Reid has made it clear he intends to trade Kolb, but the NFL lockout has stymied that effort.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

You might as well project the Cardinals offense as if Kolb will be their QB this year.

TB - CB Aqib Talib indicted

Source: St. Petersburg Times - Stephen Holder

Updating a previous item, Tampa Bay Buccaneers CB Aqib Talib was indicted by a Dallas County Texas grand jury for a charge of aggravated assault with a dealy weapon. Talib was arrested in March and accused by authorities of attempting to pistol whip and, later, shooting at his sister's boyfriend during a domestic disturbance.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Talib's standing with the team is on shaky ground. E.J. Biggers was one of the better nickel backs in the league last year, and he could be a great IDP sleeper if Talib is cut.

That'll do it for today, Folks. Have a great Saturday and we'll see you tomorrow with the update.
