Welcome to the last two weeks of the NFL season where anything is possible. In DFS this means you either succumb to the craziness or thrive on it, and we'll try to do the latter. There are plenty of teams playing for nothing this week but every player is playing for something. Let's get right to it. Once again we're using the projections of David Dodds for our Value Play selection and my personal research for the Bargain Buys. You clearly don't want to fill out a roster full of these guys, but once you've selected the studs you want, fill your roster with a couple of these players for profit.
Quarterback
Value Play
Case Keenum ($5000) vs. Baltimore- Is Keenum a guy you want as your started on an NFL team? Absolutely not. But that is irrelevant. Keenum has shown an ability to put up big points in a hurry and he gets a defense that isn't opposed to allowing them. This is a shot to redeem himself for the way he finished last season in front of his home crowd against a bad secondary. If you're taking a shot on a cheap quarterback, why not Keenum?
FanDuel Bargain Buy
Robert Griffin III III ($6900) vs. Philadelphia- This is exactly the type of game that should scare people in Week 16. Washington seemingly has nothing to play for against a Philadelphia team that is playing for everything. Of course, Griffin has plenty of reason to feel like he's playing for his career as an NFL quarterback. Don't be surprised at all if this game turns into a shootout and Griffin does his best impersonation of himself as a rookie.
Running Back
Value Play
Lamar Miller ($6300) vs. Minnesota- Miller is our first dual play this week, and there's plenty of reason for it. It's rare that you see a player with as much talent and opportunity as Miller fall this low without a terrible bad streak. While Miller hasn't been red hot, he has had at least 11 FanDuel points in two of his last three games. I wouldn't be surprised if he has that by halftime in this one.
FanDuel Bargain Buy
Tre Mason ($6500) vs. New York Giants- Yes, both of our running backs are the same on DraftKings and FanDuel. Yes, that's extremely rare. No, I don't have any concerns about it. It's difficult to project when a defense that is already out of the playoffs is going to buck up or lay down. That being said, if going on the road to play the Rams isn't a time you'd expect them to lay down I'm not sure when you would. I like Mason to steamroll the Giants this week.
Wide Receiver
Value Play
Kenny Stills ($6100) vs. Atlanta- Warning, I may be acting a little stubborn over Stills. Stills bounced back with seven targets last week and only failed to reach value because he didn't record a touchdown. He gets an equally juicy match up this weekend at home with the division on the line. I expect this to be one of the highest scoring games of the week and I expect Stills to be a part of that scoring.
FanDuel Bargain Buy
Donte Moncrief ($5900) vs. Dallas- The only reason I didn't say that New Orleans Atlanta is going to be the highest scoring game is because of this one. Moncrief had an amazing touchdown called back last week and should get more opportunity in Week 16 with both Reggie Wayne and T.Y. Hilton banged up. He's a very talented receiver with a stud quarterback in a shootout. If Hilton or Wayne are ruled out he becomes a must start.
Tight End
Value Play
Jordan Reed ($4900) vs. Philadelphia- If you're going to roll the dice with Griffin, Reed is a great upside play to go along with him. They're both young, talented players that have been largely disappointing this year. They also both have a huge motivation against a divisional rival to prove that they deserve to be on the team in 2015. This is exactly the type of strange breakout we see in Week 16 that drives people mad...unless they started them in DFS.
FanDuel Bargain Buy
Dwayne Allen ($5400) vs. Dallas- Allen isn't near the bargain he was on DraftKings, but I still think he's too good of value to avoid mentioning. Andrew Luck should have 4+ touchdown passes in this one and it shouldn't surprise anyone if at least one of those go Allen's way. I wouldn't start Moncrief and Allen but I'm not sure I'll have any lineups with neither of them either.
Kicker
Shayne Graham ($4700) vs. Atlanta- You know the drill: Favored team in a high scoring game in a dome. Rinse, repeat. Graham should get 6+ kicks in this one and we're just hoping that half of them are field goals.
Defense
Denver Broncos ($4900) vs. Cincinnati- I touched on this in the DraftKings article but all this talent against Andy Dalton chasing the scoreboard in primetime? Yes, please. Even if the Bengals score 21+ there will still be plenty of sack and turnover opportunities.
