Link to storyUpdating a previous report, Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields (head) was able to return to the Week 3 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He left the game in the second half after appearing to be visibly woozy, but he returned to finish up.

Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields (head) left the Week 3 game against the Kansas City Chiefs after appearing visibly shaken up after a hard hit on a rushing attempt in the red zone. WR DJ Moore actually grabbed him, and ushered the quarterback to the sideline. It was a tough day for Fields and the Chicago offense, as he completed just 6-of-16 passes for 42 yards, no touchdowns and an interception, while running 10 times for 46 yards, before departing.
Footballguys view: Fields and the Bears offense isn't just plateauing, it is regressing. The Chiefs defense will make a lot of offenses look bad this year, and at least the Bears are facing the Broncos at an even lower point in their season arc, but Fields is on fantasy benches until further notice. The good news if you have Fields is that this is identical to last year, and anyone who dropped Fields regretted it as he was a strong QB1 from Week 5 on. |

Chicago Bears DL Khalid Kareem (hip) did not practice Friday, Sept. 22, and has been ruled out for Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs. S Eddie Jackson (foot) did not practice all week and is listed as doubtful. OL Nate Davis (personal) was upgraded to limited practice on Friday and is listed as questionable. DB Josh Blackwell (hamstring), WR Darnell Mooney (knee) and OL Lucas Patrick (illness) practiced in full on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.
Footballguys view: The Bears were already in for a long afternoon against Patrick Mahomes. Now they'll be missing Eddie Jackson, their best defensive back and quarterback of the secondary. Expect a fireworks display from the Chiefs pass offense this weekend. |

Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Alan Williams announced his resignation Wednesday, Sept. 20.
Link to storyChicago Bears WR Darnell Mooney (knee) was limited in practice on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
Footballguys view: Mooney played 15 snaps in Week 2 before going out with this injury. It's reportedly a knee bruise that the speedy veteran is dealing with. We'll see what Mooney can do in practice by Friday. After getting no targets last week on limited playing time, we can only recommend Mooney as a deep 'what the heck' flex if he does play in Week 3 against the Chiefs. |

Chicago Bears WR DJ Moore posted six receptions for a team-high 104 yards on seven targets in Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, his first 100-yard game with the team.
Footballguys view: Moore had two of those catches for 65 yards on the first drive and this is a vulnerable Bucs pass defense, so don't get too excited. The suddenly stifling with the return of Chris Jones Chiefs defense is up next, so Moore could be a sell high unless Justin Fields finds a way to improve as a passer. |

Chicago Bears RB Roschon Johnson ran four times for 32 yards in Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he added two grabs for 10 yards on his only two targets.
Footballguys view: Johnson had the biggest gain of the day for the running game, but he wasn't targeted in the passing game as often as last week, and doesn't seem to have startable value (yet) going into a game at Kansas City. He's still the most valuable Bears back with D'Onta Foreman's healthy scratch a show of confidence in the rookie fourth round pick, but it's not clear that this offense can produce a dependable fantasy running back. |
Chicago Bears RB Khalil Herbert rushed seven times for a team-best 35 yards in Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he added a single 23-yard grab on three targets.
Footballguys view: Herbert had one less back to compete with for touches with D'Onta Foreman inactive, but it didn't matter even though he had some decent gains against a stout Bucs run defense. Herbert looks like bye/injury/emergency bench depth at this point and isn't an essential hold heading into a game at Kansas City. |

Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields completed 16-of-29 passes for 211 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also rushed four times for just three yards, although he did find the end zone with his feet, too.
Footballguys view: Fields got off to a good start on the opening drive with two big gains through the air to D.J. Moore and a rushing score, but the offense was stifled for the rest of the afternoon. Once again, he wasn't used as a runner by design, and it doesn't seem he or this pass offense has taken a step forward since last season despite the addition of Moore. He'll face the tough Chiefs defense next week. |

Chicago Bears WR Darnell Mooney (knee) suffered a knee injury during the Week 2 game and is considered questionable to return.
Footballguys view: With Mooney's injury, Chase Claypool has gotten a shot at redemption today and responded with a touchdown. Claypool isn't worth a pickup in most leagues, but if he's playing well, it can help Justin Fields value and the Bears offense. |

Chicago Bears WR Chase Claypool struggled in Week 1, and head coach Matt Eberflus did not rule out the possibility of making Claypool inactive for the Week 2 game.
Footballguys view: Claypool has the tools to be dominant, but it's not coming together for him outside of flashing with the Steelers as a rookie back in 2020. We'll see if he can get in gear and impress Eberflus and company. |
