Cowboys | Jalen Cropper released Tue Oct 14, 07:13 PM
WR Jalen Cropper was waived by the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Link to storyDallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb's (ankle) status for Week 7 is looking good, according to team owner Jerry Jones.
Footballguys view: Lamb was initially expected to miss three to four weeks with his injury, so the expectation was he'd be back in Week 7 or 8. Based on all the information we have, Lamb will make his return this week. George Pickens has picked up the pace in Lamb's absence. The former Steeler currently sits at WR4 for the season. Lamb's anticipated return against the division rival Washington Commanders opens the door to seeing if the duo can take this offense to further heights. We'll be watching for more as the week progresses. |

Dallas Cowboys WR KaVontae Turpin (foot) may be able to play in the Week 7 game, according to executive vice president Stephen Jones.
Footballguys view: In discussing CeeDee Lamb's possible return from a high-ankle sprain, Jones included Turpin and first-round pick Tyler Booker as players who could also return to action against the Commanders. If the Cowboys can return to full strength on offense, let's hope the defense can find a way to keep up. With the way Dallas' defense has been performing, the offense has to be near perfect to have a chance to win. Having all their pieces would help. We'll be watching for more. |
Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (ankle) has a chance to return to the lineup in Week 7, according to according to executive vice president Stephen Jones.
Footballguys view: The Cowboys' offense has been playing at an elite level, despite absences from key playmakers like Lamb and KaVontae Turpin in recent weeks. Lamb has been out of action since suffering a high-ankle sprain just seven snaps into the team's Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears. In Lamb's absence, George Pickens has stepped up in a big way. But a potential Lamb return in Week 7 against the division rival Washington Commanders opens the door to seeing if the duo can take this offense to further heights. We'll be watching for more as the week progresses. |

Dallas Cowboys LB Marist Liufau posted four solo stops, a sack, a tackle for loss and a quarterback hit in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers.
Link to storyUpdating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys LB Shemar James (concussion) was evaluated for concussion in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers, but he was able to return and finish the game. He posted a total of 11 tackles with six solo stops, both game highs despite missing some time.
Link to storyDallas Cowboys FB Hunter Luepke had two catches for seven yards and his first NFL receiving touchdown on two targets in Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers. It was just the second touchdown on his three-year career.
Link to storyDallas Cowboys TE Brevyn Spann-Ford, TE Luke Schoonmaker and WR Jalen Tolbert each had one reception apiece in the Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers. Spann-Ford converted his only target to a 2-yard catch, Schoonmaker's catch was for 8 yards on two targets, and Tolbert's lone target was good for an 8-yard snag.

Dallas Cowboys WR Ryan Flournoy finished with three receptions for 30 yards on six targets in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers, while adding a 3-yard run on his lone attempt.
Link to storyDallas Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson posted three receptions for 33 yards and a touchdown on three targets in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers, his third straight game with a score.
Footballguys view: Ferguson scored, but otherwise did not make any impactful plays. He was the #1 fantasy tight end in PPR leagues going into Week 6 on a much higher volume of short targets since CeeDee Lamb went out. Lamb could be back next week, which would push Ferguson back down to the lower half of the TE ranks. |
Dallas Cowboys WR George Pickens registered nine receptions for a game-high 168 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers. He has a touchdown in five straight games, becoming the seventh player in Cowboys history to accomplish that feat. His six receiving TDs already mark a career best.
Footballguys view: Pickens biggest plays came because of his run after catch instincts and speed, not his circus catch ability. Dak Prescott and the Cowboys coaches have embraced Pickens complete game, and he has been a more than suitable #1 receiver while CeeDee Lamb has been out. Even after Lamb returns - which could be next week vs. Washington - Pickens has proven that he is an everyweek fantasy start in this offense. |
Dallas Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue ran three times for zero yards in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers, and he was not targeted in the passing game. He also had two kick returns for 40 yards.
Link to storyDallas Cowboys RB Javonte Williams rushed 13 times for just 29 yards in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers, and he had five receptions for just five yards on eight targets.
Footballguys view: Williams was a dud for the first time this year, but let's give some credit to an improving Panthers run defense that also held De'Von Achane to 16 rushing yards on 10 carries in Week 5. Williams is still a solid RB1 heading into a matchup with Washington. The Cowboys offense should be even better with the eventual return of CeeDee Lamb, which could be next week. |

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott completed 25-of-34 passes for 261 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers, and he add two runs for minus-1 yard while recovering his own fumble.
Footballguys view: Prescott's fantasy value hasn't been hurt by the absence of CeeDee Lamb, who could be back next week to face the Commanders. While Prescott helped fantasy teams win today, settling for a field goal and then going backwards and punting with the game tied in the fourth quarter doomed his Cowboys. |

Dallas Cowboys practice squad WR Jalen Cropper was signed to the 53-man roster Saturday, Oct. 11. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Link to storyDallas Cowboys RB Miles Sanders (ankle, knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Oct. 11.
Footballguys view: This is a season-ending designation according to reports. That means rookie Jaydon Blue will get more of an opportunity as the direct backup to Javonte Williams. We'll see if Blue can work more into the mix, and he's an interesting change-of-pace option for the Cowboys. |

Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (ankle) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers.
Footballguys view: Lamb hasn't played since an ankle sprain forced him to exit Week 3's game in Chicago. He avoided IR, potentially signaling a return soon. Although he didn't practice this week, he was seen on the field without visible ankle taping. He'll hope to return for a divisional matchup against the Commanders in Week 7. |

Dallas Cowboys RB Miles Sanders (knee) will miss the remainder of the 2025 season, according to owner Jerry Jones.
Footballguys view: This comes as a bit of a shock. Sanders left Week 4's game with an injury and hasn't returned. However, there were no indications that his season was in jeopardy, especially after he avoided being placed on IR last week. Jaydon Blue will be next up as Javonte Williams' backup. Don't be surprised if the Cowboys go to the market for extra depth. Blue should be picked up immediately in most leagues as an injury-away stash. |

Link to storyDallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 9.
Footballguys view: Lamb is still recovering from the high-ankle sprain he suffered in Week 3. Reports suggest that a Week 7 return could be likely for the superstar receiver, so Fantasy GMs may only miss him for another week. |

Link to storyDallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Footballguys view: This high ankle sprain is lingering (as that injury tends to do), so Lamb seems likely to miss another week. Against the Panthers on Sunday, George Pickens is in line to be the top receiver for the Cowboys as he's been the last two weeks while Lamb has been out of action. |

Dallas Cowboys WR Jalen Brooks and WR Jalen Cropper reverted back to the practice squad Monday, Oct. 6, after being on the active roster for the Week 5 game.
Link to storyDak Prescott had a makeshift offensive line in front of him against a team desperate for its first win and still marched the Dallas Cowboys up and down the field. Prescott finished 18 of 29 for 237 yards behind a line that had left guard Tyler Smith (knee), left tackle Tyler Guyton (concussion), right guard Tyler Booker (ankle), and center Cooper Beebe (foot) all out.
Footballguys view: The Cowboys were also without wide receivers CeeDee Lamb (ankle) and KaVontae Turpin (foot). Prescott threw two of his four touchdown passes to Jake Ferguson, Dallas scored on two drives of 90 or more yards in the second quarter, and the Cowboys cruised past the winless New York Jets 37-22 on Sunday. Prescott's 43-yard touchdown pass to Pickens put Dallas up 30-3 late in the third quarter. He added a 4-yard TD toss to Javonte Williams in the closing minutes. Prescott heads into a Week 6 matchup with the Panthers on a roll. |

Dallas Cowboys LB Shemar James notched 15 tackles - 8 solo - in Week 5 against the New York Jets. It was the second career game for the Dallas rookie.
Link to storyDallas Cowboys WR Jalen Tolbert had no catches and one target in Week 5 against the New York Jets.
Link to storyDallas Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue rushed four times for seven yards a in Week 5 against the New York Jets.
Link to storyDallas Cowboys WR Ryan Flournoy caught six of his nine targets for 114 yards in Week 5 against the New York Jets.
Footballguys view: Flournoy was a size/speed/athleticism small school project the Cowboys drafted in the sixth round last year. After this game, he should have a role even when KaVontae Turpin comes back from the foot injury that caused him to miss this game. Flournoy will be a hot add in dynasty leagues this week. |
Dallas Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson caught seven of his nine targets for 49 yards and two touchdowns in Week 5 against the New York Jets.
Footballguys view: Ferguson didn't have a touchdown last season. He has three in the previous two weeks. He has been the best fantasy tight end through five weeks and should be very good again next week against the Panthers. One issue: Ferguson was taken to the medical tent late in the game with an undisclosed issue. We'll watch for more on that in coming days. |
Dallas Cowboys WR George Pickens caught two of his four targets for 57 yards and a touchdown in Week 5 against the New York Jets.
Footballguys view: Pickens' thunder was stolen by 2024 sixth round pick Ryan Flournoy, who had a breakout game with KaVontae Turpin inactive. Pickens did reel in a long score to keep him from being a fantasy bust, and fantasy teams with Pickens should feel good about his value with Dak Prescott in prime form. |
Dallas Cowboys RB Javonte Williams rushed 16 times for a career-high 135 yards and a touchdown in Week 5 against the New York Jets.
Footballguys view: Williams also had a 66-yard run down the one yard line and gave way to a Jake Ferguson touchdown to finish the drive. He is a legit strong fantasy RB1 with the excellent play from Dak Prescott and an offensive line that continues to win consistency even without two starters. Next week Williams will take aim at the Panthers run defense that corralled De'Von Achane in Week 5. |

Dallas Cowboys WR KaVontae Turpin (foot) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 3, and has been ruled out for Week 5.
Footballguys view: Turpin saw a big change in usage last week, running more routes than he has in any other game this season. But a foot injury kept him out of practice all week, and he won't be able to build on that expanded role. There are no indications that he's an IR candidate, so hopefully this is a short-term injury. He'll try to return next week. In his absence, Ryan Flournoy could see some extra snaps, but it's tough to trust him in a lineup. |
Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 3, and has been ruled out for Week 5.
Footballguys view: There was no expectation that Lamb would play this week. He shed his walking boot earlier in the week, which is a sign that he's progressing in the right direction. But before we can start speculating about a return to play, he'll need to step on a practice field. He'll hope to clear that bar next week. |
