Broncos | Denver to explore bringing in Taysom Hill?    Sat Aug 1, 02:55 PM

Free-agent TE Taysom Hill (Saints) has reportedly been a topic of interest by the Denver Broncos and according to HC Sean Payton on Saturday, Aug. 1, the Broncos will explore bringing him to Denver.

Footballguys view: This was predictable after Hill said goodbye to the Saints fanbase earlier this week. His days of having fantasy relevance are probably over, but if Hill joins the Broncos, an already three-headed backfield will become more complicated to project for the upcoming season.

Broncos | 'A surprise' if Evan Engram earns more snaps than Adam Trautman in 2026    Tue Jul 21, 04:42 PM

Denver Broncos TE Evan Engram earned 40% of snaps last season, compared to 57% for fellow TE Adam Trautman, and it would be a surprise if Engram earned more time on the field than Trautman in 2026, in the opinion of Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post on Tuesday, July 21.

Footballguys view: As Footballguy Matt Waldman notes, Engram was third in targets last year, but he only scored once. And unless he generates 90-100 targets or 8-10 scores, don't expect a return to starting fantasy TE status in most formats. The timeshare with Trautman makes those numbers unlikely.

Broncos | Bo Nix to be cleared when training camp opens?    Tue Jul 21, 01:02 AM

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix (ankle) could be 100% cleared when camp opens, which is consistent with Nix's messaging over the last month about his injury, in the opinion of The Denver Post's Troy Renck on Monday, July 20.

Footballguys view: Nix enters his third NFL season after finishing inside the top-10 at the position (with QB8 and QB9 outcomes) during each of his first two campaigns. He was a very limited participant during the Broncos' offseason program while recovering from the two procedures he had on his ankle. But Nix has shown consistent progress and even been deemed ahead of schedule. The Broncos have insisted the third-year man will be ready, and Nix continues to show signs they were right.

Broncos | Jonah Coleman could spell J.K. Dobbins for touches early on    Tue Jul 14, 04:08 PM

Denver Broncos RB Jonah Coleman reportedly looked ready for instant snaps in OTAs and minicamp this summer, and could spell J.K. Dobbins for short-yardage touches in the early going and pick up plenty of slack if anyone in the room misses time, in the opinion of The Denver Post's Luca Evans on Tuesday, July 14.

Footballguys view: It wouldn't be a surprise if the hard-nosed, decisive Coleman, who runs with urgency between the tackles, earns a contributing role. But from a fantasy perspective, the rookie opens the year as insurance for the oft-injured J.K. Dobbins after RJ Harvey came up short as a runner when Dobbins went down last year. But Coleman will be a fantasy afterthought if Dobbins remains in the locked and upright position all season long. The rookie's RB50 ADP reflects that likelihood.

Broncos | Tyler Badie and Jaleel McLaughlin battling for one spot    Tue Jul 14, 03:46 PM

Denver Broncos RB Tyler Badie and RB Jaleel McLaughlin are battling for one spot on the team's depth chart, according to the Denver Post's Luca Evans.

Footballguys view: Denver generally keeps four running backs on their active roster. With J.K. Dobbins, RJ Harvey, and rookie Jonah Coleman all but certain to be at the top of the depth chart, Badie and McLaughlin will be battling for that final opening. The winner of that competition will only be fantasy relevant if there are injuries ahead of him.

Broncos | More 1-on-1 coverage for Courtland Sutton?    Mon Jul 13, 12:40 AM

Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton could benefit from more one-on-one matchups thanks to the addition of WR Jaylen Waddle, while TE Evan Engram also is in the mix to stretch defenses. 'Courtland is an elite playmaker, so anytime you have a playmaker on the other side of you, it just makes it easy,' Waddle said. 'It's someone that the defense has to be looking for, and vice versa.'

Footballguys view: Sutton will undoubtedly remain one of Bo Nix's go-to targets, but with target competition from Waddle. While that's not ideal, Sutton, who finished as WR14 last year and WR11 the year before, has fallen to WR36, being drafted in the sixth round (75th overall). At the very least, Sutton will continue to be a major presence in the red zone and as a chain-mover on third downs for the franchise. Those have been valuable mainstays for him throughout his career and could allow him to outperform ADP this year.

Broncos | Evan Engram could see boost in production    Mon Jul 13, 12:36 AM

Denver Broncos TE Evan Engram could be a beneficiary from the addition of WR Jaylen Waddle, helping to boost his production, as defenses key on two top-tier wideouts in Waddle and WR Courtland Sutton.

Footballguys view: While that's possible, fantasy investors have low expectations after Engram's disappearing act last year. Look for a similar outcome this -- albeit with potentially higher efficiencies in the red zone with the addition of Waddle, creating more spacing in compressed areas. Still, as Footballguy Matt Waldman suggests, unless Engram generates 90-100 targets or 8-10 scores, we shouldn't expect a return to starting fantasy TE status in most formats. His TE35 ADP reflects that outlook.

Broncos | Pleased with Jaylen Waddle so far    Mon Jul 13, 12:35 AM

Denver Broncos WR Jaylen Waddle has impressed head coach Sean Payton and the coaching staff since being acquired from the Miami Dolphins. 'He's someone who picks things up real quick,' Payton said in June. 'You can just feel his instincts, his quickness and his ability to not only run fast but stop fast. So, he's doing well.' Payton added that catering to each receiver's unique skill set will be critical in 2026.

Footballguys view: Waddle has been one of the league's most explosive playmakers over the last several seasons, and his 15.0 yards per reception since 2022 are the third-most in the NFL. He also led the league with 18.1 yards per reception in 2022. QB Bo Nix believes Waddle's speed and efficiency could unlock new opportunities for Denver's offense. "There's a level of explosiveness that a guy like that adds," Nix explained. "You just can't replace speed. That's just what he brings to the table." With a WR23 APD, Waddle could be a significant value.

Broncos | Zach Allen intends to break team sack record    Sun Jul 12, 03:45 PM

Denver Broncos DL Zach Allen said Sunday, July 12, he expects the team to break the all-time team sack record after falling short in 2025. The team had 68 sacks in 2025, four behind the Chicago Bears (1984) NFL record of 72. The Bears also accomplished the feat in 16 games. 'We've got a lot of good guys and that's going to create a lot of opportunities for people. We came close to the sack record last year and we fully expect to break it this year,' Allen said.

Broncos | Bo Nix productive late in games    Fri Jul 3, 12:18 AM

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix led the NFL with seven game-winning drives during the 2025 regular season.

Footballguys view: An ankle injury ended Nix's season late in Denver's Divisional Round playoff win. He returned to the practice field for mandatory minicamp in June and told reporters that doctors deemed his ankle "as good as new." Coach Sean Payton said on multiple occasions during the offseason program that Nix should be a full participant by the start of training camp. Both Nix and Payton emphasized that the injury would not impact Nix's mobility. If he can continue to play at that high level, Nix could lead the Broncos to another postseason run -- and be a productive fantasy QB.

Broncos | Troy Franklin hopes to make jump    Sun Jun 28, 05:47 PM

Denver Broncos WR Troy Franklin said he hopes to be more consistent with his play this upcoming season and hopes to take his play to the next level.

Footballguys view: Franklin and 2023 second round pick Marvin Mims haven't had the desired impact since the Broncos drafted them, so they felt compelled to trade this year's first and additional draft capital to get Jaylen Waddle. Now Franklin and Mims (who has indicated he thinks this could be his last year in Denver) will be fighting promising 2025 third round pick Pat Bryant for snaps when the team puts three or more wideouts on the field.

Broncos | Mims says this could be his last season in Denver    Wed Jun 24, 12:54 AM

Denver Broncos WR Marvin Mims indicated Tuesday, June 23 that 2026 could be his last in Denver. 'I'm just going to enjoy it to the fullest,' Mims said. Go into it care free and just play my hardest because we have a real chance to do something extremely special.'

Footballguys view: The No. 63 overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft is entering the fourth and final year of his rookie contract. Because the Broncos are projected to have just $11.7 million in cap space in 2027, they'll likely have to make some difficult decisions on who to keep. With Courtland Sutton's average salary of $23 million on the books and Jaylen Waddle's flexible but expensive contract now included, Denver might have to accept its receiving corps won't include Mims beyond 2026. Seems like Mims already has.

Broncos | Jonah Coleman making case for playing time    Sun Jun 21, 01:46 PM

Denver Broncos RB Jonah Coleman has shown consistency in the passing game and pass protection, according to Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com, and Legwold believes Coleman 'belongs in the rotation' of running backs.

Footballguys view: Coleman is the no.3 back on the Broncos depth chart for now. JK Dobbins is the starter, but Denver is ready this year if/when he gets hurt. If Dobbins misses time due to injury again, the Broncos can turn to Coleman as a co-starter in the backfield with RJ Harvey. While Harvey can improve from his rookie season as a runner, he's mainly a receiving weapon with a nose for the end zone. This makes Coleman a must-stash in deep-bench leagues, or Fantasy GMs should at least keep him on the waiver wire speed dial.

Broncos | Coach indicates RJ Harvey healthy    Sat Jun 20, 12:32 PM

Denver Broncos RB RJ Harvey appears to have fully recovered from the torn labrum in his shoulder, according to head coach Sean Payton.

Footballguys view: Harvey is a key cog for the Broncos' offense. He's the "1A" for the Broncos alongside JK Dobbins in the backfield. While Dobbins gets work on the ground, Harvey is proven as a red-zone threat (12 touchdowns as a rookie in 2025) and receiving back. From a fantasy perspective, Harvey is an RB3/flex option with his current role.

Broncos | Jaylen Waddle showing versatility    Thu Jun 18, 11:50 AM

Denver Broncos WR Jaylen Waddle has been involved in the passing game at all levels of the field during minicamp, according to Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com.

Footballguys view: Waddle has been dazzling at Broncos camp this offseason. He can be the centerpiece of a passing game that led the NFL in passing attempts last season. The team needed more playmakers, and Waddle gives them their most explosive option. For Fantasy GMs, Waddle is a mid-range WR2 with the upside to work his way towards WR1 numbers. Catching passes from Bo Nix in a Sean Payton offense is a huge upgrade for Waddle.

Broncos | More work for Bo Nix    Wed Jun 17, 03:10 PM

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix (ankle) participated in seven-on-seven drills during practice Wednesday, June 17.

Footballguys view: Nix, who told reporters on Tuesday that he could play right now if he wanted, has been limited up to this point. He reiterated on Wednesday that he could've been a full participant in minicamp practices if the medical and coaching staff had let him. In his second NFL season, Nix threw for 3,931 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, adding 356 rushing yards and five scores on the ground. As previously noted, Nix is going as QB15 right now. That's a good price for a player who's finished in the top 10 at his position his first two seasons.

Broncos | Bo Nix feels great; QB says he could play right now    Wed Jun 17, 12:40 AM

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix (ankle) said that bone spurs led to second ankle surgery, but 'I feel great,' according to a report from the Denver Post on Tuesday, June 16. Nix has participated in walkthrough drills and stated that he could play right now if he wanted.

Footballguys view: Losing Nix to injury in the divisional playoffs was a brutal blow for the Broncos. It was even more painful because Nix finished the season strong. Though he was 15th in QBR for the season (58.3), he registered a 66.3 from Week 13 on (the equivalent of ranking seventh). This year, with Jaylen Waddle joining Courtland Sutton at wideout and QBs coach Davis Webb taking over the playcalling, there's reason to believe Nix can continue his development. Remember, he's finished as QB8 and QB9 in fantasy the last two seasons. Nix is being drafted as QB15 this year.

Broncos | RJ Harvey had offseason surgery    Mon Jun 15, 05:02 PM

Denver Broncos RB RJ Harvey (shoulder) underwent surgery this offseason to repair a torn labrum he suffered during the playoffs, according to sources. He was able to do some things during offseason workouts.

Footballguys view: While Harvey was able to mix into some drills, he did not do much team work as he works his way back, per Luca Evans of The Denver Post. As a rookie, the 2025 second-round pick totaled 193 touches for 896 yards from scrimmage and 12 touchdowns. We'll continue to monitor, but this news doesn't have a significant impact on his outlook for now. Harvey will play behind J.K. Dobbins and will compete with rookie Jonah Coleman for the backup job.

Free-agent WR Hakeem Butler (UFL) signed an undisclosed deal with the Denver Broncos Monday, June 15. Butler was the offensive player of the year with the St. Louis Battlehawks in the UFL.

Footballguys view: Butler was chosen by the Cardinals as the first pick of the third day of the 2019 draft. He's 30 now, so his peak physical years are behind him, but Butler's huge catch radius and ball skills could still be useful enough to earn a spot on the practice squad for the Broncos.

Broncos | More From TE Engram This Season?    Sat Jun 13, 04:37 PM

We should buy into Denver Broncos TE Evan Engram's performance over the last two weeks of OTAs, according to Troy Renck of the Denver Post.

Footballguys view: Engram has been a star over the last two days of open practice to the media, and it has many believing he's in for a bounce-back season. There's no question Engram disappointed last year, but new play-calling OC Davis Webb should have a plan for him to be more productive this year. Now, Bo Nix has yet to fully participate in practice (and might not be fully participating until training camp) as he recovers from offseason ankle surgeries. We like this drumbeat, but we will feel more excited when Nix is out there with Engram. He's a fantasy TE2 with TE1 upside.

Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton told the media on Thursday, June 11, that QB Bo Nix did some walkthrough work and will be out there for some work next week for minicamp.

Footballguys view: Nix is coming off an ankle injury in the Divisional Round against Buffalo that needed two surgeries to correct. He's not doing much this week, but the team plans for him to do a bit more at mandatory minicamp next week. We imagine Nix will be a full participant when training camp opens for the Broncos in late July.

Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton signed a five-year extension with the team on Thursday, June 11.

Footballguys view: Payton is now tied with GM George Paton through the 2030 season. They've done a great job working together to build the Broncos into a Super Bowl contender. With QB Bo Nix, Payton has been in the playoffs as a Wild Card team (2024) and the AFC's no.1 seed (2025). They should be able to make more deep playoff runs with Payton coaching, Paton scouting, and Nix playing quarterback.

Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton said he is not worried about sharing targets with WR Jaylen Waddle. 'The targets will come,' Sutton said. 'I always say, the ball is going to find you no matter what, you just need to go out there and do your job.'

Footballguys view: Sutton will be the top red zone target in any scenario, and it is clear that Bo Nix has the best chemistry with Sutton of any of the returning Broncos receivers. Sutton is right that targets will come, especially in key game situations, because he has been so good at doing his job with Denver.
