| Footballguys view: Kamara has made it evident that he wants to stay put with the Saints and play a role in the club's plans moving forward. During a podcast interview with former teammate Terron Armstead that was released Monday, Kamara praised QB Tyler Shough and the team's first-round draft pick, Jordyn Tyson. He was also excited about what he and RB Travis Etienne Jr. can do together. Kamara, 30, dealt with ankle and knee issues last season that limited him to 11 games. His role this year is unclear, but complementary work behind Etienne seems like a best-case outcome. |

He was an All-Conference player at Memphis in the American Conference, posting a team-best 113 tackles, 13 TFLs and 4.5 sacks. He had a 4.72-second 40-yard dash, 1.55-second 10-yard split, 38.5-inch vertical jump, 10-foot-3 broad jump and 20 reps in the bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine. His 10-yard split was tops among linebackers at the combine.
