Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (illness) played Monday, Sept. 25, through flu-like symptoms. C Jason Kelce said there were a number of players on the team that were sick.
Footballguys view: Hurts completed 23-of-37 passes for 277 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the Eagles' 25-11, Week 3 win over the Buccaneers. He also had 10 carries for 28 yards and a touchdown. That's a pretty good performance for a player battling illness. He should be feeling better for the Week 4 home matchup against the Commanders on Sunday. |

Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown caught four passes (on six targets) for 29 yards against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday, Sept. 14. Brown had a touchdown reception wiped away due to a holding call.
Footballguys view: Keep the faith if you drafted Brown. Usually #1 receivers who are frustrated get more targets the following week, and the Bucs secondary should be vulnerable. |
A.J. Brown player page
Philadelphia Eagles WR DeVonta Smith had four receptions, 131 yards, and a touchdown during the team's Week 2 win over the Minnesota Vikings. He was targeted five times.
Footballguys view: Smith has been a better fantasy option than A.J. Brown so far this year, and Brown seems frustrated with that development. Both should be in lineups against the Bucs pass defense that was generous to the Vikings in Week 1. |
DeVonta Smith player page
Philadelphia Eagles RB Rashaad Penny had three carries for nine yards in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings. He also had a five-yard reception on his lone target.
Footballguys view: Penny was at least active this week, but he was still a non-factor in the backfield. With D'Andre Swift asserting his supremacy this week, Penny can safely be dropped in typical leagues. |
Rashaad Penny player page
Philadelphia Eagles RB D'Andre Swift carried the ball 28 times for 175 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings. Swift also caught all three of his targeted passes for six yards in the win.
Footballguys view: Swift was an afterthought in Week 1 and didn't look like he should have a larger role in Week 2, but Kenneth Gainwell's rib injury opened the door for the biggest workload of Swift's career, and he responded. The Bucs run defense is up next week and they are stout, but Swift deserves to be in lineups. We'll see if the Eagles decide to give him less work because of the matchup and wear and tear he took on in the win, but he will have three extra days of rest because of the Thursday night game. |
D'Andre Swift player page
Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts completed 18 of 23 passes for 193 yards, one touchdown, and one interception against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday, Sept. 14. Hurts, who was sacked four times, also ran 12 times for 35 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Footballguys view: Hurts still isn't hooking up with A.J. Brown for big plays, but DeVonta Smith had two long gains to fuel the passing numbers on a run-heavy night for the Eagles, while Hurts two rushing scores returned him to an elite fantasy production level this week after a dud in Week 1 against the Patriots. The Bucs vulnerable pass defense and strong run defense is up next. |
