Ravens | Zaire Mitchell-Paden back on practice squad Mon Sep 15, 05:32 PM
Baltimore Ravens TE Zaire Mitchell-Paden reverted back to the practice squad Monday, Sept. 15, after being on the active roster for Week 2.
Link to storyBaltimore Ravens CB Jaire Alexander (knee) has a chance to be active for the Week 3 game, according to head coach John Harbaugh. He did not play in the last game because the team wants to get him into game shape.

Baltimore Ravens LB Kyle Van Noy (hamstring) could miss at least one game because of the hamstring injury he suffered in Week 2, according to a source.

Baltimore Ravens FB Patrick Ricard (calf) is considered week-to-week because his recovery from a calf injury is going slower than the team anticipated, according to head coach John Harbaugh.
Footballguys view: Ricard, who is coming off a First Team All-Pro season, hasn't practiced in nearly a month due to a calf strain. With both TE Isaiah Likely (foot) and Ricard missing the first two games, the Ravens have leaned on tight ends Charlie Kolar and Zaire Mitchell-Paden, activated off the practice squad, to take their place. Likely could return soon, but Mitchell-Paden has been an effective blocker and could remain to help cover for Ricard's absence. |
Baltimore Ravens WR Tylan Wallace registered two receptions for 25 yards and a touchdown on two targets in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns.

Baltimore Ravens WR Rashod Bateman posted two receptions for just 15 yards on four targets in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns.
Footballguys view: Bateman was an afterthought on an afternoon that Tez Walker and Tylan Wallace caught touchdowns - Walker actually caught two. After signing an extension this offseason there were increased expectations for Bateman, but he can probably be dropped because while big plays may come catching passes from Lamar Jackson, Bateman won't be consistent enough to trust. |

Baltimore Ravens WR DeAndre Hopkins posted two receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns.

Baltimore Ravens TE Mark Andrews had just one reception for two yards on two targets in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns.
Footballguys view: Andrews just doesn't have the ability to influence the outcome of NFL games or fantasy matchups anymore. He can be dropped. Isaiah Likely could have fantasy relevance when he returns to the field with Andrews doing so little in the Baltimore passing game. |

Baltimore Ravens WR Devontez Walker registered two receptions for 26 yards and two touchdowns on two targets in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns.
Link to storyBaltimore Ravens WR Zay Flowers posted game highs with seven catches, 75 yard and 11 targets in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns.
Footballguys view: Flowers didn't catch of the four touchdown passes Lamar Jackson threw and the Ravens cruised to a victory, but he still had a nice PPR game to help fantasy teams. His value is up from his draft cost, and Flower is a borderline WR1 next week against the Lions in what should be the highest scoring game of the week. |

Baltimore Ravens RB Justice Hill ran three times for just seven yards in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns, while adding three receptions for 18 yards on his three targets.

Baltimore Ravens RB Derrick Henry managed just 23 rushing yards on 11 attempts in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns, and he was not targeted in the passing game.
Footballguys view: The Browns said they weren't intimidated by Henry during the week leading up to this game, and they followed through by shutting him down. Too bad they couldn't put up much of a fight against Lamar Jackson and the Ravens passing game, which hung four scores on them. Henry should be better against the Lions next week. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 19-of-29 passes for 225 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns, while adding 13 rushing yards on a pair of attempts.
Footballguys view: The Browns shut down Derrick Henry, but had no answers for Jackson and the Ravens passing game. The line gave Jackson to look downfield with patience and pick his targets, turning the passing game into an exhibition for the Ravens. Jackson will face the Lions in a potential shootout next week. |

Baltimore Ravens LB Roquan Smith posted game highs with 15 total stops and eight solo tackles in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns. He also added three tackles for loss, two quarterback hits and a 63-yard fumble recovery for touchdown.

Baltimore Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey (groin) suffered a groin injury during the Week 2 game and is considered questionable to return.
Footballguys view: The Ravens draw the Lions next week, so if Humphrey can't go, that could make a big difference in their ability to defend the Lions passing game, which was almost flawless against the Bears in Week 2. |

Baltimore Ravens TE Isaiah Likely (foot) is unlikely to play in Week 2. He did increase his activity level in practice Friday, Sept. 12, working out in front of the training staff.
Footballguys view: If you've been holding onto Likely in your deep or tight end premium league, don't drop him yet. Mark Andrews didn't have a big role in the passing game in Week 1 and the Ravens offense looks as potent as ever. |
Baltimore Ravens TE Isaiah Likely (foot) was in uniform and working out in front of members of the athletic training and medical staffs on Friday, Sept. 12, The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec reported.

Baltimore Ravens TE Isaiah Likely (foot) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 11.
Footballguys view: He's not on Injured Reserve, so Likely can come back when he's ready without missing a minimum amount of games. It doesn't seem like Week 2 against the Browns is going to be the contest he returns for. |
Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson will have no action taken against him by the NFL for shoving a fan in the first row of the stands during Week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio. The Ravens have handled the incident internally, according to Florio.
Footballguys view: Jackson avoids any discipline, so he's good to go. The fan pushed DeAndre Hopkins helmet as they walked by, and Jackson exchanged some shoves. The NFL has banned the fan from games, and Jackson is going to be out there in Week 2 against the Browns. He's a set-it-and-forget-it starter with the upside to be the best fantasy quarterback every week. |

Baltimore Ravens TE Isaiah Likely (foot) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 10.
Footballguys view: Likely is not on Injured Reserve, so it's not a long-term issue but this foot problem has bothered him for about a month. We'll see if he can at least be limited by Friday. |
Baltimore Ravens TE Zaire Mitchell-Paden reverted back to the practice squad Monday, Sept. 8, after being on the active roster for Week 1.
Link to storyFree-agent QB Austin Reed (Bears), WR Cornelius Johnson (Packers) and WR Samori Toure (Bears) recently worked out for the Baltimore Ravens.
Link to storyBaltimore Ravens FB Patrick Ricard (calf) may be able to return to practice at some point this week, according to head coach John Harbaugh.
Footballguys view: Ricard (calf) hasn't practiced since Aug. 14, and until Sunday night's loss to the Bills, hadn't missed a game since 2021. When asked about how the offense might have to change without the five-time Pro Bowler and frequent spearhead in the running game, offensive coordinator Todd Monken said, "I feel good about our guys." His guys, Derrick Henry, who ran for 169 yards and two touchdowns, and Lamar Jackson, who ran for 70 yards and a score, didn't have much trouble finding running room in Ricard's absence. We'll follow up on the fullback as needed. |
Baltimore Ravens LB Roquan Smith collected a game-high 10 tackles (eight solo) during the team's Week 1 matchup with the Buffalo Bills.

Baltimore Ravens TE Mark Andrews caught his lone targeted pass for five yards in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills.
Footballguys view: With Isaiah Likely sidelined this week, Andrews was on the field for 38 of 51 snaps in Buffalo. According to Pro Football Focus' Nathan Jahnke, while Andrews played more than he typically did last season, it still wasn't close to the snap share most fantasy starters command. That number will probably fall once Likely returns. Fantasy managers starting Andrews will need him to score to return value, and that volatility isn't going away. |

Baltimore Ravens WR DeAndre Hopkins had two receptions for 35 yards and a touchdown during a Week 1 matchup with the Buffalo Bills. Hopkins was targeted twice.

Baltimore Ravens WR Zay Flowers had seven receptions (on nine targets) for a career-high 143 yards and a touchdown versus the Buffalo Bills in Week 1. Flowers was also involved in the running game, carrying the ball twice for eight yards.
Footballguys view: The 143 receiving yards set a new career-high for Flowers, and his nine targets were five ahead of the second-most targeted player, Rashod Bateman. His 28.1 fantasy points were the most for any receiver in Week 1. Fantasy investors shouldn't expect this kind of output on a weekly basis in Baltimore's run-heavy offense, but this kind of spike performance is within his range of outcomes every week. |

Baltimore Ravens RB Justice Hill carried the ball twice for minus-14 yards against the Buffalo Bills in Week 1. He had one catch (on two targets) for three yards.

Baltimore Ravens RB Derrick Henry ran the ball 18 times for 169 yards and two touchdowns in a Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Henry, who added a 13-yard reception, also had a fumble late in the fourth quarter that opened the door for Buffalo's improbable comeback.
Footballguys view: Fumble aside, Henry ran with authority while imposing his will on the Bills' defensive front. Lamar Jackson added another 70 yards and a touchdown on the ground, displaying his trademark speed, vision, and playmaking ability. Together, they created constant pressure on the Bills, forcing defenders to account for both the raw power of Henry and the agility and improvisational skill of Jackson. While the result was disappointing for Baltimore, the performance highlighted just how dangerous this backfield can be when both players are in rhythm. Baltimore plays the Browns in Week 2. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 14 of his 19 passes for 209 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions during the team's 41-40 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Jackson added 70 yards and a touchdown on just six rushing attempts.
Footballguys view: Despite the loss in Buffalo, it's clear that Jackson and Derrick Henry, who ran for 169 yards and two touchdowns, present a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses. Their combination of speed, power, and versatility makes the Ravens' backfield one of the most dynamic in the sport. Even with the loss in Week 1, there is no question that Baltimore's ground attack will be a major storyline all season long, capable of dictating the pace of games and challenging the league's top defenses. |
