Los Angeles Chargers LB Khalil Mack (elbow) will miss a few weeks with a dislocated elbow, but the injury is not expected to end his season.
Footballguys view: Broncos QB Bo Nix can breathe a sigh of relief as he prepares to play a Chargers defense without Mack. The elbow injury is not serious enough to knock him out for the rest of the season, and most expect him back at some point in October. |

Los Angeles Chargers DE Khalil Mack (arm) suffered a serious arm injury in the first half of Week 2 against the Las Vegas Raiders and did not return to the game. He was spotted on the sideline with his arm in a sling during the second half.
Footballguys view: Mack finished the game with one sack and one tackle in the quarter. Mack is perhaps the team's best defender and its most respected leader; if he misses significant time, it would be a big blow to the Chargers' defense for more than just his play. |

Los Angeles Chargers LB Daiyan Henley had a game-high 10 tackles (seven solo), a sack, two QB hits, two passes defensed, and an interception in a Week 2 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Los Angeles Chargers WR Tre Harris was targeted three times, catching two of them for 34 yards during the club's Week 2 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Link to storyLos Angeles Chargers WR Quentin Johnston had three receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown during the team's Week 2 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. He was targeted seven times.
Footballguys view: Remember, Johnston torched the reigning AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs for 79 receiving yards and two touchdowns on five catches in Week 1. He carried over that form into Week 2. Thanks to his hot start in 2025, Johnston managed to become the first Chargers player since former Bolts star tight end Antonio Gates in 2014 to have three receiving TDs in the team's first two games of a season. With the Chargers leaning into the passing attack, Johnston, Keenan Allen, and Ladd McConkey are all viable fantasy plays, with Johnston (WR7) and Allen (WR12) both delivering WR1-level production. |

Los Angeles Chargers RB Omarion Hampton ran the ball eight times for 24 yards against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2. Hampton was also targeted twice as a receiver, catching one for one yard.
Footballguys view: Hampton, the 22nd pick of the draft, has 72 yards through two games. On Monday, he was held to fewer than 50 yards rushing in back-to-back games for the first time since his 2022 freshman season at North Carolina, per NFL Research. There's little reason to think much brighter days aren't ahead, but so far, the draft's first-round RB duo has been anything but dynamic. He'll try to get on track against the Commanders in Week 3. |
Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert connected on 19 of his 27 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns in a win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Herbert also ran nine times for a team-high 31 yards.
Footballguys view: Herbert has been excellent this season. He tossed a pair of touchdowns on Monday -- one to Keenan Allen and a 60-yarder to Quentin Johnston, for five in two games with no interceptions. Failing to salt away a win in the fourth quarter on three fruitless drives that added up to 11 plays for 29 yards and a lost fumble is troubling. Still, though, Herbert is playing arguably the best ball of his career and flourishing in a second year with offensive coordinator Greg Roman. Herbert is QB4 through two games. |

Los Angeles Chargers RB Najee Harris (eye) was limited to 12 offensive snaps in the Week 1 game, but head coach Jim Harbaugh said Harris could receive more work in Week 2.
Footballguys view: After he was limited to two touches -- one carry and one reception, good for five yards each -- last Friday, it's reasonable to believe Harris' workload will ramp up. Even assuming first-round rookie Omarion Hampton continues to lead the team in carries, more work for Harris makes sense. The former Steeler missed almost all of training camp and the entire preseason with an eye injury. So even if he sees the field more in Week 2, fantasy investors should expect the increase in playing time to be gradual over the next few weeks. |

Los Angeles Chargers RB Najee Harris (eye) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 4, and is not on the injury report for Week 1. The Chargers did not hold a practice Thursday, so this is an estimation.
Footballguys view: The Chargers are taking on the Chiefs in Brazil on Friday night. We're curious to see how they use both Harris and rookie first-round pick Omarion Hampton in what should be a run-heavy offense. In Week 1, consider Hampton an RB2/flex play and Harris is a deep flex play. |

Los Angeles Chargers RB Omarion Hampton could be 'a very productive workhorse,' in the opinion of The Athletic's Daniel Popper, who writes that Hampton is the 'complete package' as a runner, and with questions surrounding how much RB Najee Harris (eye) can contribute, Popper believes that the Chargers will 'feed' Hampton a lot of touches.
Footballguys view: Popper believes that role will be sufficient for Hampton to be among the league leaders in rushing yards this season. While that's not out of the question, it won't be easy. As SI.com's Mike Moraitis notes, there is no telling how well Hampton will acclimate to the NFL in his first season. Even the slightest issue with that will cause him to fall short of this prediction. Adding to that, Najee Harris figures to see ample action, which could significantly cut into Hampton's snaps, making it even more difficult for him to finish as a top-five rusher. |
Los Angeles Chargers RB Najee Harris (eye) said he expects to be available for the Week 1 game.
Footballguys view: "I'm ramping up to it," he told The Athletic's Daniel Popper. Harris did not want to get into any details on what happened in the fireworks accident, but he said his vision has not been affected and called the eye injury "superficial." We'll be watching for more on Harris' progress as Friday's kickoff in Brazil draws nearer. What we know now, however, is that Harris is eager to hit the field. Having Harris and first-round pick Omarion Hampton in the backfield could help keep the Chiefs' offense off the field as much as possible. |

Los Angeles Chargers RB Najee Harris (eye) has a chance to play in the Week 1 game, according to head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Footballguys view: This has to be viewed as a best-case scenario for Harris. As SI.com suggested, it's a mild surprise he could even be available after his limited showings in training camp in the wake of an eye injury suffered during a fireworks accident. As such, one would think he's behind first-rounder Omarion Hampton in the rotation for now. We'll continue to watch his progress in advance of Friday's game against the Chiefs in Brazil. |

Los Angeles Chargers WR Quentin Johnston (head) has cleared the concussion protocol, according to head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Footballguys view: As SI.com reminded readers, Johnston was on the wrong end of a nasty hit in the preseason that caused the NFL to fine the defender. He's in the mix with Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen for a starter's share of the snaps on Friday, though rookies Tre Harris and KeAndre Lambert-Smith still have upside. |
