Seahawks | Week 1 possible for Zach Charbonnet? Thu Jun 11, 11:19 AM
Seattle Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet (knee) could be ready by Week 1, according to head coach Mike Macdonald, who said 'everything is possible.' Macdonald acknowledged Charbonnet is ahead of schedule.
Footballguys view: Anything is possible (thanks, Kevin Garnett), but what's likely here with Charbonnet? It's likely that he's going to need some time to get back to himself, even if the veteran back is ready for the start of the regular season. Rookie first-round pick Jadarian Price is impressing this offseason and could do most of the heavy lifting in the Seattle backfield - at least to begin the 2026 season.

Seattle Seahawks WR Rashid Shaheed is expected to have bigger role in the offense, according to head coach Mike Macdonald. 'The timing of our plays looks like it should, given the amount of reps that are invested into it,' Macdonald said. 'I'm excited as heck to see where it goes.'
Footballguys view: Shaheed is a weapon on special teams, and he brings that same danger to the offensive side of the ball. We could see him push Cooper Kupp down the depth chart, and Shaheed could easily be the team's no.2 receiver. From a fantasy perspective, Shaheed is a WR5/deep flex in standard-scoring leagues. However, the upside to move into weekly flex territory is there.
Seattle Seahawks TE Elijah Arroyo (undisclosed) and TE Eric Saubert (undisclosed) have not been practicing during minicamp but are expected to be ready for training camp, according to head coach Mike Macdonald. 'They're just working through some stuff, but it's positive for training camp,' Macdonald said. 'We're just taking care of them right now.'
Footballguys view: Arroyo is the player to watch here. The second-year tight end has the speed to be a weapon in the middle of the field. He's a reserve behind AJ Barner at this time, but we love Arroyo's upside in dynasty formats.
Eric Saubert player page
Seattle Seahawks RB Jadarian Price has played entire drives with the first-team offense during mandatory minicamp.
Footballguys view: Price, a 2026 first-round pick, has reportedly been impressing this offseason. He should be considered the leader in the backfield, although we could see George Holani split time with the rookie early in the season. Zach Charbonnet could be ready sooner than possible, but he's coming back from a knee injury suffered in the playoffs. Let's see if Price can continue to separate himself from Holani in minicamp and training camp.
Seattle Seahawks WR Tory Horton (shin) was on the field during the mandatory minicamp this week but is expected to be ready for the start of training camp or the early stages of camp.
Footballguys view: A fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Horton has flashed briefly in the pros. Last year as a rookie, Horton played in eight games and started three games, finishing with 13 catches for 161 yards and five touchdowns. A shin injury cut his season short, and now he's working his way back this offseason. When healthy, Horton can operate as a special teams return man and no.3/no.4 receiver who can thrive near pay dirt.
Seattle Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet (knee) was on the field doing some light knee exercises on Tuesday, June 9, four months after reconstructive knee surgery for a torn ACL.
Footballguys view: With a surgery date of February 20th, expectations were that Charbonnet would be back late in the season, if at all. If Charbonnet is ahead of schedule, he'll almost surely push for a large workload, just as he did alongside Kenneth Walker. While it's too early to shoot Charbonnet up the rankings, managers expecting a big season from rookie Jadarian Price may be in for a rude awakening.

Seattle Seahawks RB George Holani and Jadarian Price share snaps with the first-team offense during the voluntary workout Wednesday, June 3.
Footballguys view: With Zach Charbonnet (knee) recovering, and Kenneth Walker in Kansas City, the Seahawks are working out their RBBC. This is a competition that should last through training camp and the preseason. Price, the first-round pick out of Notre Dame, is an exciting prospect with speed and field-flipping ability. However, recent reports suggested he may not be the bell cow right away. Instead, the team may use an RBBC with Holani until Price is ready for a larger workload. Price does have flex appeal as the lead back in this committee, with the upside to be more if/when he takes a larger role.
Seattle Seahawks TE Elijah Arroyo (undisclosed) did not participate in the voluntary workout Wednesday, June 3.
Link to storySeattle Seahawks OG Anthony Bradford (knee) left the voluntary workout early Wednesday, June 3, because of a knee injury.
Link to storySeattle Seahawks TE AJ Barner (undisclosed) said he had multiple surgeries over the offseason but will be 'ready to go' when training camp begins.
Footballguys view: Barner had calf, elbow, and hip injuries last year. He's feeling better now, and Barner should once again be a security-blanket target for Sam Darnold. We like him as a low-end TE2 from a fantasy perspective.
Seattle Seahawks WR Cooper Kupp said he 'never for a second' considered retirement this offseason.
Footballguys view: Kupp was the Seahawks no.2 receiver last year, and he finished with 47 catches for 593 yards and two touchdowns. This year, Seattle should move Rashid Shaheed into the no.2 role and Kupp gets demoted to more of a no.3 role. That makes Kupp more of a 'what the heck' flex in certain matchups for Fantasy GMs.

Seattle Seahawks DE Derick Hall agreed to a three-year, $42 million extension that could be worth up to $46.5 million and includes $21 million guaranteed on Tuesday, June 2.
Footballguys view: The Seahawks lost Boye Mafe in free agency to Cincinnati on a three-year, $60 million deal. Hall is more than two years younger than Mafe, but was slowed by oblique and ankle injuries last year. After Hall notched eight sacks (only one fewer than Mafe's career high) as a 23-year-old in 2024, expectations were high, and it's clear the Seahawks believe in Hall. This is another prudent move for GM John Schneider.

Seattle Seahawks first-round draft choice RB Jadarian Price agreed to terms on a four-year contract with the Seahawks Friday, May 29, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the deal includes a fifth-year option.
Footballguys view: Price has a chance to start Week 1 in the Super Bowl rematch against New England, but nothing is promised or guaranteed to him. George Holani is splitting first team work with Price while Zach Charbonnet (expected back sometime in the second half of the season) and Kenny McIntosh (should be ready for camp) recover from ACL surgery. Free agent signing Emanuel Wilson was not seen at practice this week, but Price did have a great play on a long reception that could help create momentum for him to be used in the passing game after barely seeing any targets at Notre Dame behind Arizona Cardinals #3 overall pick Jeremiyah Love.
Seattle Seahawks WR Trayvon Rudolph was waived Wednesday, May 27.
Link to storyNew York Jets WR Irvin Charles was acquired by the Seattle Seahawks Wednesday, May 27, in exhange for a conditional seventh-round pick.
Link to storySeattle Seahawks WR Tory Horton (shin/groin) has reportedly received some good news medically that should allow him to accelerate his process for getting back, with 'a chance he can do some stuff toward the end of spring', according to head coach Mike Macdonald on Tuesday, May 26.
Footballguys view: A fifth-round pick in 2025, Horton made 13 catches for 161 yards and five touchdowns and also contributed a 95-yard punt return touchdown. But he had a shin injury in Week 9 that ended his season. Horton underwent surgery, and his timetable for a return has been uncertain. The fact that he could hit the field soon opens the door to Horton being available in Week 1.
Seattle Seahawks C Olu Oluwatimi may be a possible candidate to be traded this offseason, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Brady Henderson.
Link to storySeattle Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet (knee) has not been seen at the voluntary workouts this offseason.
Footballguys view: No surprise here. Charbonnet suffered a torn ACL in the Seahawks' divisional round win over the 49ers last postseason, and didn't have surgery to repair the injury until February. Seahawks HC Mike Macdonald said Charbonnet is "not going to miss the whole year." We expect Charbonnet to be on PUP to begin the regular season. That means 2026 first-round pick Jadarian Price will have the opportunity to be the team's lead back in Week 1. We see Price as an RB2/3 with upside in that role, and he could keep that role for much of the regular season as Charbonnet continues to recover.

Seattle Seahawks WR Michael Briscoe was waived Thursday, May 14, with a failure to disclose physical condition designation.

Link to storySeattle Seahawks LB Derick Hall had 8.0 sacks, six tackles for loss and two forced fumbles in 2025 across 14 regular-season games, and he had two sacks in the Super Bowl victory, including a strip-sack fumble. He could be an extension candidate, especially with LB Uchenna Nwosu missing significant time due to injuries in recent seasons, LB DeMarcus Lawrence reportedly considering retirement earlier this season, and LB Dante Fowler Jr. turning 32 in August.

Seattle Seahawks RB Kenny McIntosh (knee) is a speedy back who has battled knee injuries in the early part of his career, including a torn ACL suffered in training camp last summer. 'He's coming along,' head coach Mike Macdonald said last month. 'It's tough to put a timetable to it. He's training his tail off. I think it's one of those deals where, 'Hey, let's just keep hitting those benchmarks until we can evaluate what it's going to look like in the fall.''

Seattle Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet (knee) continues to recover from surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee suffered during the Divisional Round of the playoffs. He is expected to return at some point this season, but head coach Mike Macdonald doesn't know exactly when Charbonnet will be back. 'I can't give you a timeline right now, but I can tell you he's killing it as we knew he would,' coach Mike Macdonald said during the draft. 'With these long-term injuries -- I say it all the time, you've just got to stack these things. You have to be able to get to the next thing and go rip it, and that's what he's doing. I'm excited for Zach.'
Footballguys view: The Seahawks can afford to be conservative with Charbonnet's return after taking Jadarian Price at the end of the first round of the draft. He isn't worth taking in typical leagues because his ceiling even when he returns isn't very high.
Zach Charbonnet player page
Seattle Seahawks RB Emanuel Wilson is a bigger back at 5-foot-10 and 226 pounds, who gives the team a power runner while RB Zach Charbonnet (knee) is on the shelf recovering from ACL surgery in February. Despite the absence of Charbonnet, likely until later in the regular season, Wilson still has to contend with top healthy holdover RB George Holani and rookie draft pick RB Jadarian Price for the top spot on the depth chart.
Footballguys view: If Price isn't ready for prime time - he was a back up in college because he played with Jeremiyah Love - then Wilson will be the primary early down and goal line back for the Seahawks. He's worth a late round pick in best ball leagues and an end of the bench spot in deep dynasty leagues.
Seattle Seahawks RB George Holani is the lone healthy holdover in the backfield, and his work catching the ball and working in pass protection makes him a strong candidate for third-down work, even when RB Zach Charbonnet (knee) is ready to return. Holani is battling free-agent addition RB Emanuel Wilson and draft pick RB Jadarian Price for a more meaningful role until Charbonnet can get back.
Footballguys view: Holani doesn't have standalone value in fantasy leagues, but he could lower Jadarian Price's ceiling if he proves to be a capable third down back. If injuries thin the backfield, he could have spot start fantasy value during the season.
Seattle Seahawks RB Jadarian Price is viewed as a replacement for RB Kenneth Walker III (Chiefs), but he isn't the clear-cut RB1 with RBs Emanuel Wilson and George Holani in the mix, and RB Zach Charbonnet (knee) expected back at some point. The team isn't asking Price to go from RB2 in college to a high-volume starter in the NFL. He averaged roughly 18.5 snaps and nearly nine touches per game over the past two seasons at Notre Dame, and he also returned kickoffs, so he could be used in that role, even with the presence of WR Rashid Shaheed.
Footballguys view: The Seahawks aren't going away from a committee backfield, but that doesn't mean that Price isn't worth a top five selection in dynasty rookie drafts. If he gets goal line work and leads the team in carries, that should be more than enough to be a fantasy RB2, with room to grow in the future because Zach Charbonnet is a free agent in 2027.

Seattle Seahawks first-round pick RB Jadarian Price fits the team's outside-zone running scheme as that's the system he ran in at Notre Dame. Notre Dame running backs coach Ja'Juan Seider says that system is Price's 'love language.' Seider also noted that Price's experience making an impact while sharing snaps with Jeremiyah Love will also benefit him once RB Zach Charbonnet (knee) returns.
Footballguys view: Price's 6.0 yards per rush over three seasons at Notre Dame suggest he can bring an explosive element to Seattle's offense similar to what Ken Walker III did. But will it earn a robust role? With Zach Charbonnet likely to miss much of the season, the Seahawks signed Emanuel Wilson to give them a power runner, while George Holani has a skillset that could fit a third-down role. Both will get opportunities. Still, Price's Footballguys projection works out to 16 touches per game, and the rookie could provide RB2 value.

Free-agent DE Dante Fowler (Cowboys) signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks Tuesday, May 5. The deal could be worth up to $5 million.

Seattle Seahawks sixth-round draft choice WR Emmanuel Henderson Jr. signed a four-year contract with the Seahawks Thursday, April 30. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Henderson steps into the pro game with the ability to immediately impact the game on special teams as a return man or a gunner. A converted running back, Henderson can make big plays as a receiving weapon. He needs to refine his route-running ability, but Henderson is a player who can rack up yards after the catch regularly. He's a depth receiver on offense, but Henderson gets the benefit of learning behind Rashid Shaheed (on both offense and special teams).
Seattle Seahawks third-round draft choice CB Julian Neal, fifth-round draft choice OG Beau Stephens, seventh-round draft choice CB Andre Fuller, seventh-round draft choice DT Deven Eastern and seventh-round draft choice CB Michael Dansby signed four-year contracts with the Seahawks Thursday, April 30. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Link to storyUpdating a previous report, undrafted free-agent WR Michael Briscoe (Cal Poly), TE Lance Mason (Wisconsin) and WR Levi Wentz (Kansas) officially signed with the Seattle Seahawks Friday, May 1. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
Link to storySeattle Seahawks QB Jalen Milroe's dual-threat ability is a skill the Seahawks 'hope to utilize' more next season, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com.
Footballguys view: Milroe failed to make a splash in his first camp, but the 2025 third round pick was expected to be a long term project. He was one of the best pure runners, including running backs, in last year's draft, so hopefully we can see some of that in small doses as the game slows down for Milroe.
Seattle Seahawks RB Jadarian Price 'won't have to be a bell cow right away', sources tell ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Footballguys view: It's a good situation for Price to step into, although replacing the Super Bowl MVP (Kenneth Walker) does have challenges. It shouldn't take the Notre Dame speedster long to showcase what he can do in the NFL, and he's used to working in a split backfield because of his experience splitting time with Jeremiyah Love. Seahawks' RB Zach Charbonnet suffered a torn ACL in their divisional round win over the 49ers last postseason, so Price can be penciled in as their RB1.
Free-agent TE Harrison Bryant (Texans) signed with the Seattle Seahawks Wednesday, April 29. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Bryant is a seasoned veteran who can block and catch. He'll provide the Seahawks with depth behind A.J. Barner, Elijah Arroyo, and Eric Saubert. We won't see Bryant do much unless injuries strike at the position.

Seattle Seahawks RB Cam Akers was released Monday, April 27.
Footballguys view: Akers, a former second-round pick of the Rams, joined the Seahawks last season and appeared in three regular-season games, as well as Seattle's NFC championship game win over the Rams. With Akers no longer on the team, the Seahawks have six running backs on the roster: Returning players Zach Charbonnet, George Holani, Kenny McIntosh, Jacardia Wright; free-agent addition Emanuel Wilson, and first-round pick Jadarian Price. Charbonnet is recovering from a torn ACL and isn't expected back until well into the regular season.
