| Footballguys view: There's a chance Aiyuk has played his final game with the 49ers. Some are still holding out hope within the organization, but we're not sure how things get patched up here. He's allegedly been failing to report to meetings, and the team designated that as a breach of contract terms. Thus, his 2026 guarantees were removed. Aiyuk hasn't played in over a year as he recovers from a major knee injury. |

The wait for Brandon Aiyuk's return continues. The 49ers won't open the receiver's practice window this week. Aiyuk continues to work his way back from the ACL and MCL injuries he sustained last season and remains week-to-week. Another wideout, Jacob Cowing (hamstring), may be nearing a return. Coach Kyle Shanahan noted that the 49ers could open his practice window after the bye week.
| Footballguys view: Aiyuk will not play in next Monday night's Week 12 game against the Panthers, and, as CBSSports.com suggests, he doesn't appear to be particularly close to a return to game action. The 49ers have a Week 14 bye, so perhaps Aiyuk will practice at some point before that and potentially play prior to the end of the regular season. For now, the Niners will continue to roll with Ricky Pearsall, Jauan Jennings, and Kendrick Bourne as their three main wideouts. |
