| Footballguys view: Daniels' elbow bent backwards as he was bracing himself while falling on a goal line snap at the end of the first half because one of his guards stepped on his foot. This will almost certainly be a multi-week injury as it was the same elbow he dislocated last year. The injury takes the wind out of the sails of a Commanders offense that was outperforming expectations. Marcus Mariota will replace Daniels, and 2026 seventh round pick Atham Kaliakmanis will back him up against the Seahawks next week. |

Adam Schefter reports that Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt (groin), OLB Odafe Oweh (calf) and OLB K'Lavon Chaisson are all "cleared to play" for the season opener at Philadelphia.
| Footballguys view: Croskey-Merritt has been back at practice since September 1st after suffering a minor groin injury on August 22nd. There wasn't any expectation that he wouldn't be ready for this game, but fantasy managers can breathe a sigh of relief after getting some clarity. He'll have a tough matchup against the Eagles, and it's yet to be seen how touches will be split between him, Rachaad White, and Kaytron Allen. Consider Croskey-Merritt an RB4 in Week 1; hopefully some clarity this week allows for a better ranking heading into Week 2 against the Cowboys. |
