Free agency is just around the corner, and with it, changes in dynasty player values. Our staff gathers together to give a preview of players trending in positive or negative directions. Next up is running backs tending down.
Miles Sanders, Free Agent
Jason Wood - Sanders is coming off a career-best 1,347-yard, 11-touchdown season as one of the critical pieces of the No. 2 scoring offense in the NFL. But the Eagles have a litany of difficult free-agent decisions ahead, and keeping Sanders is way down the list of priorities. Sanders likely signs as a starter elsewhere, but no team signing him will have as good an offensive line or as committed a rushing attack.
Andy Hicks - Miles Sanders and Devin Singletary will have their use to a likely new team. That said, it needs to be the right team to get the best of them from a fantasy perspective. They could easily be assigned backup or third-down roles or, at best, be complimentary starters. Maybe someone sees a good use for them and demonstrates that with a wealthy contract. I would guess not.
Alexander Mattison, Free Agent
Zareh Kantzabedian - Mattison may not get the warm welcome he anticipates through Free Agency. Not many teams are looking to acquire a career backup running back who will be 25 years old when the season starts. His best-case scenario is that he finds himself in a training camp battle for starter opportunities come Training Camp.
Alvin Kamara, New Orleans
Kyle Yates - Kamara is battling an ongoing legal situation from an off-the-field incident last offseason, and he now officially has a trial set for July 31, 2023. While there's simply no way of predicting how that situation will play out, from a fantasy football standpoint, we have to be concerned with rostering Kamara and the potential outcome.
