San Francisco 49ers QB Mac Jones said he has been focused on repeating his success from last season. 'But the challenge is to do it again this year and really not compare the two,' Jones said. 'Every season is different and I've learned that probably better than anybody. I feel like it's time to stack some good years here.'
Footballguys view: Jones is back for his second season with the 49ers. He looked good starting in relief of Brock Purdy last year (2,151 yards, 13 touchdowns, and six interceptions in eight games), and Jones is set to earn a big contract as an unrestricted free agent in 2027. The Shanahan system is perfect for Jones, so if he's called upon again this season, he should be able to play at a high level.

Los Angeles Chargers RB Omarion Hampton said he is excited to play in offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel's system. 'I like it a lot,' Hampton said. 'Really all the running backs like it a lot. Getting in the groove of it, just figuring it out, figuring out the details of it. I feel like it's gonna be super good for us.'
Footballguys view: McDaniel compared Hampton to HOF Broncos RB Terrell Davis, which is obviously high praise. Like Davis, Hampton has intent and power as a runner - especially when at full speed. Hampton's rookie season was cut short due to injury, but the ability is there for him to be one of the best in the league. Fantasy GMs are over-the-moon already about Hampton, so you'll have to pay up to secure him on your fantasy team. While he might end up being an RB2 with upside this year, Hampton is getting drafted as a low-end RB1.
Free-agent QB Taysom Hill (Saints) has not had much contact with the New Orleans Saints this offseason, but head coach Kellen Moore is not ruling out the possibility of Hill re-signing at some point.
Footballguys view: The odds are somewhat shaky that Hill finds an NFL team before the start of the regular season. Whether that's with the Saints or another team (Broncos?) has yet to be determined. It sounds like Moore is open to the idea of bringing the versatile TE/QB back to the roster.

Chicago Bears WR Zavion Thomas was able to make plays during offseason workouts and can be involved in the passing games for years to come if he can become comfortable with the offense, according to QB Caleb Williams.
Footballguys view: Thomas is incredibly dangerous with the ball in his hands, both as a receiver and as a return man. The Bears wanted to add more YAC to the passing game, and Williams should love how Thomas performs in that department. Thomas is gadget player, but he could push Kalif Raymond for the no.3 spot at the wide receiver position behind Rome Odunze and Luther Burden.
Los Angeles Chargers fourth-round draft choice WR Brenen Thompson signed a four-year contract with the Chargers Thursday, June 18. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Thompson is one of the most explosive skill position players in this draft class. Even though he has a slight frame (165 pounds), Thompson is blazing fast and can cut on a dime. New Chargers OC Mike McDaniel should be able to craft many ways to use Thompson's speed and quickness to attack a defense. The rookie's speed helps to stretch the field while guys like Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston do much of the work in the passing game.
Los Angeles Chargers WR Quentin Johnston said he is excited about playing in offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel's system because it is similar to what he did during his college career.
Footballguys view: All Chargers are excited about this offense! Yes, with mandatory minicamps wrapped up around the league, we have entered the 'more fluff' mode of the offseason. All kidding aside, like Omarion Hampton (and others), Johnston should be incredibly excited. McDaniel is a much more dynamic designer than Greg Roman, so the Chargers should look more innovative on offense in 2026. We like Johnston as a WR4/5 for Fantasy GMs this year.

Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor led the league with 323 carries and was one of 11 running backs to play in all 17 games last season. Head coach Shane Steichen said the team is aware of it and plan to use RBs Seth McGowan and DJ Giddens to supplement Taylor. 'I think he led the league last year in carries, but talking to him after the season, he said he felt good,' Steichen said. 'But yeah, obviously he's a hell of a player. It's hard to take him off the field when he's running so good, but getting Seth (McGowan) in the fold and DJ (Giddens) and see how those guys come along in training camp, and we'll go from there.'
Footballguys view: He's a top-tier running back, and there's no doubt Taylor will continue as an RB1. That's what makes him one of the first few backs off the board in fantasy drafts. Even though guys like Giddens and McGowan might pick up a bit more work if/when Taylor needs a breather, we don't see it greatly impacting his workload - or his fantasy value.

Detroit Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs has incorporated mixed-martial arts into his training routine. 'It helps with body control,' Gibbs said. 'Your base and all that and faster hands,' Gibbs told ESPN. 'I would say with blocking, I get my hands up before they hit me.'
Footballguys view: Many players in the NFL turn to unconventional training during their pro career. Gibbs is just trying to keep his game at the highest level, and this sort of training can help do that. He's a no-brainer top-2 pick in every fantasy league, and Gibbs can be relied on as a set-it-and-forget-it starter.

Link to storyFree-agent WR Stefon Diggs (Patriots) said he is open to signing with the Washington Commanders this offseason.
Footballguys view: Diggs is now free and clear to play. Earlier this month, the NFL concluded that there was "insufficient evidence to support a finding of a personal conduct policy violation" for Diggs. With no suspension looming, some team - perhaps the Commanders - should have interest in the veteran receiver.

New York Giants RB Cam Skattebo (ankle) said he will not change his play style even though he suffered a serious ankle injury during the 2025 season.
Footballguys view: Skattebo is a powerful runner who thrives on contact. Even after his ankle injury as a rookie, Skattebo is going to continue as a battering ram for the Giants offense. He should be the lead back with Tyrone Tracy working to spell him from time to time.
Dallas Cowboys WR Romello Brinson was waived Thursday, June 18.

Washington Commanders RB Rachaad White impressed the team's coaching staff during the offseason program, according to the Athletic's Ben Standig.
Footballguys view: White signed with the Commanders in March to give them veteran depth at the position. Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt is in line for a larger role, but White could provide the team with pass-catching ability out of the backfield. The Commanders also drafted Penn State RB Kaytron Allen in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, but he's firmly behind Croskey-Merritt and White on the depth chart.
Free agent OT Reid Holskey (Giants) signed with the Denver Broncos on Thursday, June 18. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Link to storyFree agent WR Denzel Mims (Jets) signed with the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, June 18. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Mims played with the Dallas Renegades in the UFL this season, and he now gets another chance to play in the NFL. He's got a size/speed combination, but the former second-round pick (Jets, 2020) has never played up to his potential.

Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider is promoting Willie Schneider and Matt Berry to the role of assistant general manager on Thursday, June 18, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Link to storyCincinnati Bengals WR Colbie Young is in the mix to be the team's No. 3 receiver, according to offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher. 'I think he's going to fight and battle,' Pitcher said. 'He's a young player, but there are things that I think he can do quickly and help us.'
Footballguys view: Young, a fourth-round pick out of Georgia, has the upside to be a star "X" receiver when fully developed. Everyone compares him to Courtland Sutton, and like Sutton he is a big body that can play above the rim. Young will compete with Andrei Iosivas for the no.3 spot behind Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
Denver Broncos WR Jaylen Waddle has been involved in the passing game at all levels of the field during minicamp, according to Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com.
Footballguys view: Waddle has been dazzling at Broncos camp this offseason. He can be the centerpiece of a passing game that led the NFL in passing attempts last season. The team needed more playmakers, and Waddle gives them their most explosive option. For Fantasy GMs, Waddle is a mid-range WR2 with the upside to work his way towards WR1 numbers. Catching passes from Bo Nix in a Sean Payton offense is a huge upgrade for Waddle.

New York Jets WR Garrett Wilson 'appears to be in mid-season form' based on his performance during minicamp, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com.
Footballguys view: Wilson is looking sharp while still dealing with "meh" quarterback play (at best). This year, the Jets are going with Geno Smith as their starter and Wilson should be his favorite target. That makes Wilson a mid-range WR2 with the upside to be a weekly WR1 for Fantasy GMs out there.
Atlanta Falcons RB Tyler Goodson has been 'impressive' while working as the No. 3 running back during minicamp, according to Will McFadden of AtlantaFalcons.com.
Footballguys view: The Falcons signed Goodson in late March as a depth piece in the backfield. They have Bijan Robinson as their starter, and he's a no-brainer RB1 for Fantasy GMs. Behind him is Brian Robinson, and the veteran brings a ton of power to the room. Goodson is looking for scraps behind those two, but it sounds like he'll be reliable if injuries strike the depth chart in front of him.
New Orleans Saints TE Oscar Delp was the 'top target' for the offense during team drills at minicamp Tuesday, June 16, according to Ross Jackson of LouisianaSports.net.
Footballguys view: Let's put this in the "offseason drumbeat" folder for the Saints. Delp has incredible speed down the middle, and he's the type of player who should have a better pro career than a college career. He spent time behind Brock Bowers at Georgia, and Delp never really blew up the stat sheet in the Bulldogs' run-heavy offense. With the Saints, Delp will get to develop behind Juwan Johnson this season. We love him in dynasty formats.
Tennessee Titans WR Wan'Dale Robinson caught eight passes from QB Cam Ward during practice Wednesday, June 17.
Footballguys view: The Titans signed Robinson in March, and he's a player that can make big plays for his quarterback. It sounds like Robinson is building quality chemistry with Ward at practice. We'll see if that continues into training camp and the preseason later this summer. With rookie WR Carnell Tate getting a lot of attention from opponents, Robinson should perform like a WR3 for Fantasy GMs.
Updating previous reports, New Orleans Saints DE Cameron Jordan's one-year deal is worth a maximum of $11 million. The base value is $7.5 million ($6.15 million signing bonus and $1.35 million base salary) with $3.5 million in sack incentives.
Footballguys view: Jordan is back for his 16th season with the Saints. This incentive-laden deal saves the Saints cap space while giving the veteran an opportunity to earn more money. We'll see Jordan as a part of the Saints pass-rushing rotation.

Link to storyDallas Cowboys WR George Pickens said he is ready to play on the franchise tag tender this upcoming season and plans to be a full participant during training camp.
Footballguys view: As SI.com noted, the expectation was always that Pickens wouldn't hold out after he signed his franchise tag, but knowing the mercurial wideout's history, assuming anything with him is a risky proposition. But Pickens alleviated any concerns on Wednesday. "Like I said, the group of guys that's with the Cowboys kind of prevents you [from holding out]," Pickens said. "I talk to Dak [Prescott] . . . He's definitely gonna make you not want to hold out." Pickens led the team in targets (137), catches (93), yards (1,429), and touchdowns (eight) in 2025, his first season in Dallas.
Cincinnati Bengals CB Daxton Hill (knee) was limited during practice Tuesday, June 16, because of a minor knee injury, a source told ESPN.com's Ben Baby.
Link to storyDenver Broncos QB Bo Nix (ankle) participated in seven-on-seven drills during practice Wednesday, June 17.
Footballguys view: Nix, who told reporters on Tuesday that he could play right now if he wanted, has been limited up to this point. He reiterated on Wednesday that he could've been a full participant in minicamp practices if the medical and coaching staff had let him. In his second NFL season, Nix threw for 3,931 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, adding 356 rushing yards and five scores on the ground. As previously noted, Nix is going as QB15 right now. That's a good price for a player who's finished in the top 10 at his position his first two seasons.
Washington Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt (undisclosed) participated in practice Tuesday, June 16, after missing the voluntary workouts because of an undisclosed reason, according to ESPN.com's John Keim.
Footballguys view: It's a crowded running backs room in Washington, and head coach Dan Quinn said Croskey-Merritt has to show what he can do in pass protection, among other areas, this summer. Getting back on the field will keep him in the competition with free-agent additions Rachaad White and Jerome Ford, fellow holdover Jeremy McNichols, and rookie Kaytron Allen. This will be a backfield to watch in August.
Seattle Seahawks vice president of player acquisition Matt Berry and director of pro personnel Willie Schneider are being promoted to assistant general manager, according to sources.
Link to storyNew Orleans Saints RB Devin Neal (knee) and RB Kendre Miller (knee) were limited during practice Tuesday, June 16, according to ESPN.com's Katherine Terrell.
Footballguys view: The fact that Neal, who was hurt in OTAs, and Miller, who tore an ACL last season, were involved at all is a positive. Worth noting, veteran running back Alvin Kamara was back at minicamp, with his status unchanged from his appearance at OTAs two weeks ago. Addressing Kamara's contract remains one of the last big tasks the Saints have this summer. Kamara did limited work at practice and did not participate in 11-on-11 drills, which coach Kellen Moore said was part of the plan since he has had limited practice time with the team.
Kendre Miller player page
New Orleans Saints WR Jordyn Tyson (undisclosed) was limited during practice Tuesday, June 16.
Footballguys view: Tyson has been sidelined or limited for the majority of OTAs due to a nagging hamstring injury. Tyson is expected to continue to be limited for their mandatory minicamp as well. As SI.com suggests, this is likely just the team being overly cautious, but because of his injury history, it's noteworthy. We'll be watching closely when training camp opens next month to see what Tyson's level of participation is before we start rethinking his value.
Los Angeles Chargers WR Brenen Thompson (undisclosed) left practice early with a trainer Tuesday, June 16, because of an undisclosed reasons, according to ESPN.com's Kris Rhim.

Link to storyFree-agent QB Hunter Dekkers (Saints) and WR Jalen Moreno-Cropper (Cowboys) signed with the New Orleans Saints Wednesday, June 17. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed. The team also waived/injured WR Damien Alford (undisclosed).
Link to storyFree-agent WR Tay Martin (Commanders) signed with the Detroit Lions Wednesday, June 17. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. The team also placed WR Kendrick Law (knee) on the Reserve/Injured list.
Link to storyNew York Jets QB Cade Klubnik (back) is on the field during practice Wednesday, June 17, but is not participating in position drills. He did not participate in practice Tuesday, June 16.
Footballguys view: Klubnik has been out of practice with back soreness, so his return is a positive. As Profootballtalk.com notes, the Jets' plan is for Bailey Zappe to serve as the No. 2 quarterback behind starter Geno Smith. Klubnik could earn the No. 2 job, but missing time now could put him behind in training camp. A year ago, Klubnik was viewed as a future first-round draft pick, but he had a disappointing final college season, and his draft stock slid to the fourth. The Jets think he has plenty of upside. But they need to see it on the field.
Cincinnati Bengals C Connor Lew (knee) is making good progress in his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament, but head coach Zac Taylor said there is no timetable for his return at this point.
