1. OAK - WR Antonio Brown meeting with specialist

Source: The Athletic - Vic Tafur

Oakland Raiders WR Antonio Brown (foot) is scheduled to meet with foot specialist Saturday, Aug. 3.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Adam Schefter reported that this is nothing long term, but it is still not great for Brown to be missing practice time that could be vital growth periods for the chemistry between him and Derek Carr. He is a risk/reward pick at current ADP with a floor and ceiling that is farther apart than some of his second-round peers.

2. IND - QB Andrew Luck remains sidelined

Source: NFL Network - Stacey Dales

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck (calf) will not participate in practice Saturday, Aug. 3.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This injury is a huge concern now as Luck was supposed to be ready for the start of training camp. The Colts are wisely being cautious but we'd like to get some good news on his calf issue for a change.

3. KC - RB Damien Williams remains sidelined

Source: ESPN.com - Adam Teicher

Kansas City Chiefs RB Damien Williams (hamstring) did not participate in practice Saturday, Aug. 3, and has not practiced since the start of training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Andy Reid sounded a little frustrated and it's fair to wonder if Williams status as the clear starter won't get tarnished if this absence lasts much longer. It's about time for his ADP to slide a little unless he gets back on the field pronto.

4. NE - WR Josh Gordon applies for reinstatement

Source: BalzerFootball.com - Howard Balzer

New England Patriots WR Josh Gordon has applied for reinstatement from suspension, according to a league source.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We've all been waiting for this to become official. The Patriots must feel good about the situation and that's why they've held onto Gordon. He's immensely talented but needs to get things off the field in order so he can get back to making plays on the field. Roger Goodell will eventually make a decision on Gordon's future but it may not come anytime soon.

5. NYG - QB Daniel Jones showing off arm

Source: ESPN.com

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones 'throws a really good deep ball,' according to WR Russell Shepard. 'One of the better deep balls I've seen, especially at this point of his career,' Shepard said.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones has a decent arm but the main thing that stands out about his game (from his college tape) is his athleticism. He's got a dash of Carson Wentz to his game in terms of rushing ability, but Jones is far from being as polished as Wentz when it comes to passing. We'll see if/when Jones can unseat Eli Manning for the top spot on the depth chart with the Giants.

6. TB - Offense clicking for QB Jameis Winston

Source: Buccaneers.com - Carmen Vitali

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston has shown 'consistency' and a good grasp of the offense during training camp, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Winston is in a make-or-break season with the Bucs...but he's got Arians to guide him. We'll be curious to see how Winston works with Arians because on paper and in practice it sounds/looks great. Arians loves to throw deep and so does Winston. That could be great news for Winston but also guys like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin in 2019.

7. DAL - Zack Martin to miss some time

Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer

Dallas Cowboys OG Zack Martin (back) is expected to miss up to a week because of some irritation in one of the disks in his back, according to head coach Jason Garrett.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A week isn't long for a back issue and the good news is that it isn't structural. We will keep an eye on this for the rest of the summer and have extra concern if it comes up during the year.

8. DEN - More on RB Theo Riddick's deal

Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos RB Theo Riddick signed a one-year contract with the Broncos worth $2.5 million. The deal also includes $1 million in guaranteed money and could be worth as much as $3.3 million with incentives.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Riddick is a sure thing to make the roster with this contract, and Devontae Booker is likely gone soon enough. This takes the edge off of Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman's upside and turns this into a three-headed backfield.

9. PIT - Two players injured Friday

Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (hip) and LB Vince Williams (hamstring) suffered injuries during practice Friday, Aug. 2. Head coach Mike Tomlin said he hopes the injury are considered day-to-day.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Johnson had been building momentum and even getting first team snaps. James Washington has also gotten praise and could make his mark on the battle for snaps at wide receiver if Johnson misses more time.

10. BAL - Marshal Yanda sits again

Source: The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens OG Marshal Yanda (undisclosed) did not participate in practice for the second straight day Saturday, Aug. 3, because of an undisclosed reason.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Yanda has a foot/ankle issue that John Harbaugh insists is not serious. He said Yanda wanted to practice, but he told him to "take it easy for today".

11. ATL - Kurt Benkert likely to miss time

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Atlanta Falcons QB Kurt Benkert's (toe) toe injury is considered a serious injury, according to sources. Benkert suffered the injury during the Hall of Fame game.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Matt Schaub is the only backup to Matt Ryan, so expect the Falcons to make a move here. It's an unfortunate injury for Benkert as he was looking good against the Broncos on Thursday night.

12. SEA - Seattle makes changes at tight end

Source: Seahawks.com - John Boyle

Free-agent TE Wes Saxton (49ers) and undrafted free-agent TE Jackson Harris (Georgia) signed with the Seattle Seahawks Saturday, Aug. 3. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed. The team also waived/injured TEs Tyrone Swoopes (undisclosed) and Justin Johnson (Achilles).

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Seahawks have a rather ho-hum group of tight ends from top to bottom. Will Dissly and Nick Vannett should be the leading players in the group and neither are great fantasy assets. We'll see if someone can emerge.

13. CIN - WR John Ross day-to-day

Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra

Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross (hamstring) is listed as day-to-day because of a hamstring issue, according to head coach Zac Taylor.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ross has talent, speed and a nose for the end zone. He also has a long history of getting banged up. It's a make-or-break year for Ross and we'd like to see him healthy and injury-free for a full season.

14. DEN - RB Theo Riddick signs

Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

The Denver Broncos signed free-agent RB Theo Riddick (Lions) to a one-year deal on Friday, Aug. 2, according to 9News.com's Mike Klis.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Riddick is a pass-catching back the Broncos really wanted. That means Devontae Booker may be on his way out as the No. 3 back for the team. Riddick catches around 60 passes per year, and that's something he could do for the Broncos. This signing is a bit of bad news for Phillip Lindsay as some reports indicated the team would use him more as a receiver out of the backfield this year (in addition to him being the lead back in a RBBC with Royce Freeman). Adjust your expectations for this now three-headed backfield accordingly.

15. IND - RB Jordan Wilkins missing time

Source: 1070 The Fan - Kevin Bowen

Indianapolis Colts RB Jordan Wilkins (undisclosed) missed his second straight practice Friday, Aug. 2.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wilkins is a talented back who is in the mix behind Marlon Mack. If Mack gets banged up this year, Wilkins could take over as a lead ball-carrier working with Nyheim Hines in a RBBC.

16. PHI - OLB Kamu Grugier-Hill injured

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Philadelphia Eagles LB Kamu Grugier-Hill (knee) left practice early Saturday, Aug. 3, after suffering a knee injury.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Grugier-Hill has been maybe the best linebacker in camp for the Eagles, so if this is serious, it will be a blow for a defense that is trying to work free agent pickup Zach Brown in as a starter. IDP players should watch this one closely.

17. MIA - S Reshad Jones wearing a boot

Source: Miami Herald - Adam Beasley

Miami Dolphins SS Reshad Jones (undisclosed) was wearing a walking boot on his right foot during practice Saturday, Aug. 3.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones wasn't even a sure thing to be on this team after the rift between him and the organization grew last year. There was some speculation that he could get dealt, but an injury would reduce the chances of that to zero.
