The Footballguys IDP Matchup Spreadsheet tracks trends around the league to help evaluate IDP matchups for each week.

When I look at matchups for this week, these are the matchups that look MOST FAVORABLE from a tackling perspective (with some notes if the matchup is particularly unfavorable for run vs pass):

  • HOUSTON (vs San Francisco) – 49ers offense generates 54.9 tackle opps/game (27 rush/25 pass)
  • PHILADELPHIA (vs NY Giants) – Giants offense generates 55tackle opps/game (31 rush/21 pass)
  • DENVER (vs Dallas) – Cowboys offense generates 52.1 tackle opps/game (24 rush/27 pass)
  • CAROLINA (vs Buffalo) – Bills offense generates 51.8 tackle opps/game (29 rush/20.5 pass)

In contrast, these matchups look LEAST FAVORABLE from a tackling perspective (with some notes if the matchup is particularly unfavorable for run vs pass):

  • INDIANAPOLIS (vs Tennessee) – Titans offense generates 43.6 tackle opps/game (20 rush/19 pass)
  • NY JETS (vs Cincinnati) – Bengals offense generates 43.7 tackle opps/game (18 rush/23 pass)
  • ATLANTA (vs Miami) – Dolphins offense generates 43.9 tackle opps/game (20 rush/21 pass)
  • GREEN BAY (vs Pittsburgh) – Steelers offense generates 44.0 tackle opps/game (22.5 rush/20 pass)
  • CHICAGO (vs Baltimore) – Ravens offense generates 45.2 tackle opps/game (23 rush/19 pass)

You may also want some help picking out matchups for pass rushers. These are some that look MOST FAVORABLE from a pass-rush perspective:

  • CINCINNATI (vs NY Jets) – Jets offense allowing 4.4 sacks/game
  • INDIANAPOLIS (vs Tennessee) – Titans offense allowing 4.3 sacks/game
  • CHICAGO (vs Baltimore) – Ravens offense allowing 3.3 sacks/game

In contrast, here are some matchups that look LEAST FAVORABLE from a pass-rush perspective:

  • TENNESSEE (vs Indianapolis) – Colts offense allowing .9 sacks/game
  • DENVER (vs Dallas) – Cowboys offense allowing 1.1 sacks/game
  • DALLAS (vs Denver) – Broncos offense allowing 1.1 sacks/game
  • WASHINGTON (vs Kansas City) – Chiefs offense allowing 1.3 sacks/game
