The Footballguys IDP Matchup Spreadsheet tracks trends around the league to help evaluate IDP matchups for each week.

When I look at matchups for this week, these are the matchups that look MOST FAVORABLE from a tackling perspective (with some notes if the matchup is particularly unfavorable for run vs pass):

  • JACKSONVILLE (vs LA Chargers) – Chargers offense generates 53.3 tackle opps/game (26 rush/24 pass)
  • PHILADELPHIA (vs Detroit) – Lions offense generates 52.8 tackle opps/game (28 rush/23 pass)
  • TAMPA BAY (vs Buffalo) – Bills offense generates 52.8 tackle opps/game (30 rush/21 pass)
  • ARIZONA (vs San Francisco) – 49ers offense generates 52.7 tackle opps/game (26 rush/25 pass)
  • LAS VEGAS (vs Dallas) – Cowboys offense generates 52.2 tackle opps/game (25 rush/26 pass)

In contrast, these matchups look LEAST FAVORABLE from a tackling perspective (with some notes if the matchup is particularly unfavorable for run vs pass):

  • HOUSTON (vs Tennessee) – Titans offense generates 43.4 tackle opps/game (20 rush/19 pass)
  • CINCINNATI (vs Pittsburgh) – Steelers offense generates 43.8 tackle opps/game (21 rush/21 pass)
  • PITTSBURGH (vs Cincinnati) – Bengals offense generates 44.3 tackle opps/game (18 rush/24 pass)
  • CHICAGO (vs Minnesota) – Vikings offense generates 44.8 tackle opps/game (22 rush/19 pass)
  • WASHINGTON (vs Miami) – Dolphins offense generates 45.8 tackle opps/game (23 rush/21 pass)
  • DALLAS (vs Las Vegas) – Raiders offense generates 46.3 tackle opps/game (23 rush/20 pass)

You may also want some help picking out matchups for pass rushers. These are some that look MOST FAVORABLE from a pass-rush perspective:

  • HOUSTON (vs Tennessee) – Titans offense allowing 4.2 sacks/game
  • NEW ENGLAND (vs NY Jets) – Jets offense allowing 3.8 sacks/game **Thursday Game**
  • CHICAGO (vs Minnesota) – Vikings offense allowing 3.8 sacks/game
  • SAN FRANCISCO (vs Arizona) – Cardinals offense allowing 3.8 sacks/game

In contrast, here are some matchups that look LEAST FAVORABLE from a pass-rush perspective:

  • KANSAS CITY (vs Denver) – Broncos offense allowing 1.1 sack/game
  • LA RAMS (vs Seattle) – Seahawks offense allowing 1.1 sacks/game
  • CAROLINA (vs Atlanta) – Falcons offense allowing 1.6 sacks/game
  • SEATTLE (vs LA Rams) – Rams offense allowing 1.6 sacks/game
  • MINNESOTA (vs Chicago) - Bears offense allowing 1.6 sacks/game
