When I look at matchups for this week, these are the matchups that look MOST FAVORABLE from a tackling perspective (with some notes if the matchup is particularly unfavorable for run vs pass):

  • PHILADELPHIA (vs Dallas) – Cowboys offense generates 52.3 tackle opps/game (25 rush/26 pass)
  • JACKSONVILLE (vs Arizona) - Cardinals offense generates 52.0 tackle opps/game (23 rush/25 pass)
  • CAROLINA (vs San Francisco) – 49ers offense generates 51.7 tackle opps/game (26 rush/24 pass)
  • HOUSTON (vs Buffalo) – Bills offense generates 51.7 tackle opps/game (29 rush/21 pass) *Thursday Night*
  • ARIZONA (vs Jacksonville) - Jaguars offense generates 51.6 tackle opps/game (29 rush/20 pass)
  • DETROIT (vs NY Giants) - Giants offense generates 51.5 tackle opps/game (29 rush/20 pass)

In contrast, these matchups look LEAST FAVORABLE from a tackling perspective (with some notes if the matchup is particularly unfavorable for run vs pass):

  • SEATTLE (vs Tennessee) – Titans offense generates 43.5 tackle opps/game (20 rush/19 pass)
  • GREEN BAY (vs Minnesota) – Vikings offense generates 44.1 tackle opps/game (22 rush/19 pass)
  • CHICAGO (vs Pittsburgh) – Steelers offense generates 44.3 tackle opps/game (22 rush/21 pass)
  • NEW ENGLAND (vs Cincinnati) – Bengals offense generates 44.4 tackle opps/game (18.5 rush/24 pass)
  • CLEVELAND (vs Las Vegas) – Raiders offense generates 45.9 tackle opps/game (22 rush/21 pass)

You may also want some help picking out matchups for pass rushers. These are some that look MOST FAVORABLE from a pass-rush perspective:

  • SEATTLE (vs Tennessee) – Titans offense allowing 4.1 sacks/game
  • BALTIMORE (vs NY Jets) – Jets offense allowing 3.6 sacks/game
  • GREEN BAY (vs Minnesota) – Vikings offense allowing 3.4 sacks/game
  • JACKSONVILLE (vs Arizona) – Cardinals offense allowing 3.4 sacks/game
  • CINCINNATI (vs New England) – Patriots offense allowing 3.3 sacks/game

In contrast, here are some matchups that look LEAST FAVORABLE from a pass-rush perspective:

  • TENNESSEE (vs Seattle) – Seahawks offense allowing 1.0 sacks/game
  • NEW ORLEANS (vs Atlanta) – Falcons offense allowing 1.4 sacks/game
  • TAMPA BAY (vs LA Rams) – Rams offense allowing 1.4 sacks/game
  • MINNESOTA (vs Green Bay) – Packers offense allowing 1.6 sacks/game
  • PITTSBURGH (vs Chicago) – Bears offense allowing 1.6 sacks/game
  • PHILADELPHIA (vs Dallas) – Cowboys offense allowing 1.6 sacks/game
