Scouting Report
CJ Daniels is one of the most experienced receivers in the draft. He played a full four seasons with Liberty, his first two with Malik Willis at quarterback. Daniels earned second-team All-Conference USA honors in 2023, before moving to LSU and then Miami for one season each. He was a valuable depth receiver at each stop. His lengthy career made him one of the most productive players in NCAA history, narrowly missing a list of players with 200 career receptions and 3,000 career yards.
Daniels leaned into his veteran status, leading a young receiver room and earning praise for his work ethic. Daniels offers good length as an outside receiver capable of working in the vertical game. His one-handed reception against Notre Dame may have been the best catch in college football. His time with Liberty made him comfortable in a featured role; he worked at all three levels to round out the Miami receiving corps. He has a slight frame and won't light up athletic testing, though his tape is filled with highlight-caliber plays. His age and athleticism likely give him a Day 3 ceiling.
Rundown
Daniels is an experienced receiver who understands nuance and defensive manipulation. He was a team leader for a young receiver room that peaked with a national championship appearance.
