Scouting Report
Jordan Hudson grew up outside Dallas before playing on both sides of the SMU-TCU crosstown rivalry. Hudson was a Top 100 prospect who had initially committed to TCU coach Sonny Dykes while Dykes was at SMU, following the coach across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Following his first season, TCU was aggressive in the portal, bringing in Jack Bech and JoJo Earle, which contributed to Hudson's decision to transfer back to his initial school. Hudson was a supporting player his first two seasons at SMU before leading the team in receiving in 2025.
Hudson profiles as a Z receiver, playing outside opposite the X. He did most of his work close to the line of scrimmage, though it may have been more a function of offensive design and quarterback limitations, as he showcased the ability to win at all three levels. His quick feet stand out after the catch, and he flashed the ability to grow as a possession receiver at the next level. He wins more on technical ability than overall athleticism. Hudson has a chance to be a solid NFL contributor, though he needs further development to project as a fantasy starter. He likely falls on the fringe of Days 2 and 3.
Rundown
A former high-end recruit, Hudson relies on quick feet and understanding tempo to win. Hudson enters the draft process with a sense of untapped potential, despite a strong close to his college career.
