Josh Cameron Scouting Report - WR, Baylor

Josh Cameron is a walk-on success story. After receiving no scholarship offers, Cameron made the Baylor roster in 2021, playing sparingly in a passing attack built around Tyquan Thornton. He worked his way up to a contributing role in 2022 and 2023 before emerging as a star in 2024, earning first-team All-Big 12 honors as a returner in 2024 and as a receiver in 2025. Cameron was nominated for multiple awards, with coach Dave Aranda praising his mentality and leadership. 

Cameron's physicality stands out. His developed frame is thick for a receiver, making it difficult for cornerbacks to tackle him in the open field. His return ability grants a clear path to a roster and carries over to the offensive side, where he is a threat after the catch. Baylor utilized him at all three levels, though playing the ball downfield is a work in progress. Cameron is a willing blocker, actively seeking out defenders to help spring teammates downfield. The upside case sees him in a fantasy-friendly Deebo Samuel-type role, pushing volume his way as the league has trended toward lower ADoT passing attacks.
