Scouting Report
Nick DeGennaro has already shown he will do anything for a chance. DeGennaro turned in a strong American Bowl appearance, then immediately hopped on a red-eye flight to get to the Shrine Bowl. His resilience came to define his college career. He started his career at Maryland as a three-star in the 2020 class after playing both ways and running track in high school. He failed to crack a talented Maryland depth chart and lost all of 2021 to injury before moving to Richmond. At Richmond, he became a star, earning All-CAA honors in both 2023 and 2024. DeGennaro spent his final season at James Madison, working as a big-play threat. He raised eyebrows with two splash plays in the CFP loss to Oregon.
DeGennaro has worked primarily as an outside receiver, where his speed has allowed him to win vertically. His hands and field awareness are his best traits; he has recorded multiple highlight-quality catches working the sidelines. His age and modest production against high-level competition work against him as a potential fantasy contributor. He does not profile as a return threat and was not asked to perform those duties, further clouding a possible path to an NFL roster.
Rundown
DeGennaro built a reputation as a vertical threat over a six-year career. He was an all-conference performer against lower-level competition, playing a supporting role on a James Madison team that made the CFP.
