Alec Pierce definitely gets the most from every catch, but can he be a more reliable receiver and increase his catch count significantly? The Colts parted with long time alpha receiver Michael Pittman for Pierce and if he improves he is rapidly undervalued. Doubts will remain until he shows it on the field.
Craig Lakins
He signed a nice contract, but his injury is lingering into the season. There were already questions around how valuable his role would be for fantasy football. All this missed time doesn't help.
Jeff Blaylock
The Colts believe Pierce can be their alpha receiver, and his game has evolved from being exclusively a deep threat to becoming a threat at the intermediate level, too. We won't know if the Colts are right until Pierce can stay on the field.

Alec Pierce eligible to come off IR but will not practice this week
Colts WR Alec Pierce, who is eligible to come off injured reserve this week, will not practice, head coach Shane Steichen said on Monday.
Alec Pierce eligible for practice window next week but 'at least a few weeks' from return
Colts WR Alec Pierce continues to progress in his recovery from a re-injured heel but is still likely at least a few weeks from returning, though he is eligible to have his 21-day practice window on injured reserve opened next week, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported. Pierce re-injured his left heel late in the first quarter of Week 2's Sunday night game against the Chiefs and was placed on injured reserve. The initial expectation was that he would be out closer to midseason, at least six to eight weeks, rather than the four-game IR minimum. Pierce was not seen wearing a cast earlier this week.
Alec Pierce out of cast but 'not close to a return' from IR
Colts WR Alec Pierce was seen in the locker room on Wednesday no longer wearing a cast on his left ankle/heel, a sign of progress in his recovery. However, he did not appear to be close to a return. The earliest Pierce could come back from injured reserve is Week 7 at Minnesota.
Colts without Keenan Allen, Darius Slayton and Alec Pierce against Commanders
The Colts will be without three of their top wide receivers, WRs Keenan Allen, Darius Slayton and Alec Pierce, for Sunday's game against the Commanders. Allen (groin) was downgraded to out on Saturday, and Pierce is on injured reserve. No reason was given for Slayton's absence.
