Darnold (glute) practices limited, Daniels (elbow) sits out for WAS
John Boyle of Seahawks.com reports that QB Sam Darnold returned to practice on Wednesday as a limited participant after missing last week's game with a glute injury; coach Mike Macdonald said Seattle will 'ramp up his workload during the week before the team makes a decision on his status' for Sunday's game against Washington. RB Jadarian Price (chest), RB George Holani (knee), LB Ernest Jones IV (neck) and WR Cooper Kupp (back) were also limited, while S Nick Emmanwori (ankle) was a full participant after being limited the first two weeks. Safety Ty Okada (hamstring) and DT Brandon Pili (concussion) did not practice. On the Commanders' side, QB Jayden Daniels (left elbow) did not practice and Marcus Mariota is expected to start in his place, with RG Samuel Cosmi, S Nick Cross, DT Javon Kinlaw, LB Frankie Luvu and TE Chigoziem Okonkwo also sitting out Wednesday.
Nick Emmanwori active for Week 2 vs. Cardinals, making 2026 debut
Seahawks.com reports that safety Nick Emmanwori, who underwent ankle surgery prior to training camp and was listed as questionable, is active for Sunday's Week 2 game against the Arizona Cardinals, marking his 2026 debut. Also active is receiver Tory Horton, who missed the opener with a hamstring injury and will play for the first time since Week 9 of last season. Seattle will be without quarterback Sam Darnold, safety Ty Okada and right guard Anthony Bradford, all ruled out due to injury; Drew Lock will make his first start for the Seahawks since 2023, Christian Haynes will make his first career start in place of Bradford, and Rodney Thomas II was elevated from the practice squad to fill in for Okada.
