With the Josh Jacobs situation, the Packers running back room has practically no experience. Brooks may be the most experienced. Could be a sneaky guy to get while others focus on Lloyd. But with no confidence

Chris Brooks is a big reason why the Packers didn't keep Emmanuel Wilson, not MarShawn Lloyd. Green Bay isn't convinced Lloyd will turn things around fast enough to become a viable contributor.
Lloyd has a history of fumbling, making immaturity decisions between the tackles, and he hasn't been healthy enough to work on these issues for any length of time.
Brooks has elite contact balance, good quickness, adequate burst, and strong vision. He's also an underrated pass-catcher with excellent tracking.
If called upon, he can deliver as a starter or healthy part of a committee. With Josh Jacobs' off-field issue costing him playing time in 2026, the media is keen on naming veterans who could get called to contribute.
It's likely we'll see the Packers explore that possibility, but Brooks is good enough that they may opt for a journeyman backup and let Brooks roll. Brooks has the skills to become a valuable fantasy starter.
