Mike Evans departure means Godwin will have relevance again if healthy.

Godwin has been a favorite of mine for years, but I overestimated his recovery timeline last year. This year, he enters camp in a much better place, physically. He'll likely move around the formation to help dictate matchups while still earning a high percentage of slot alignments that should lead to fantasy WR2 volume.

Emeka Egbuka started hot and should continue developing, but he has always had minor catch issues with specific targets. Expectations of Egbuka delivering Jaxon Smith-Njigba's 2025 production should be tempered if the drops remain a minor problem, but he should deliver no worse than low-end WR3 value and likely be a good fantasy WR2.

With Mike Evans gone, Godwin's range of outcomes span 100 targets to 150 targets, depending on usage. He'll likely be Baker Mayfield's favorite red-zone target and compete for the leaderboard for TDs on the team.

The danger of a decline is near, but at Godwin's price and expertise, I'll take the risk.

The issues here are age and durability. He's entering his age-30 season, and he's missed more games than he's played over the past two years. When he's healthy, he can deliver WR2-level fantasy points. When he's not, as was the case last year, he was twice as likely to have 30 or fewer receiving yards than have more than 30.

Chris Godwin firing on all cylinders

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin has been able to participate in the offseason program at full strength, according to head coach Todd Bowles. 'Obviously his knowledge of the game helps the younger guys but his route running is sharp, he looks smooth running his routes and he understands the offense very well,' Bowles said. 'We know the playmaker he's going to be for us.'
