Loveland looked great on the run home and has elite fantasy receiver written all over him. Where he fits in target share with Burden, Odunze and the running backs remains to be seen. Showed a penchant for touchdowns which helps his cause.

This summer should put to rest any concerns that Colston Loveland was going to fall into a sophomore slump. He may well lead the Bears in targets, despite Luther Burden and Rome Odunze's presence.

Was the #1 target last four games of his rookie year, would contend for TE1 overall and be a first round value if he stays at that level. Plenty of upside at ADP even if he doesn't

Loveland was fantastic as a rookie, commanding a ton of targets right through the postseason. Now entering his second year under Ben Johnson, the sky is the limit. There are plenty of mouths to feed in Chicago, but Loveland’s talent gives him legitimate top 5 tight end upside.

Loveland is the closest thing we've seen in years to the Rob Gronkowski/George Kittle unicorn at the position that can do it all. Fortunately, Ben Johnson had the insight to take rookie TE Sam Roush to limit the demands of Unicorn TEs that lead to injuries.

Roush is the best blocking TE in the 2026 rookie class and an underrated receiver. Short-term and long-term, Roush allows the Bears to detached Loveland like a receiver far more often while still possessing the blockers -- Roush and Cole Kmet -- to put opposing defenses on notice in the running game.

While the excitement about Luther Burden has merit, and there's still hope for Rome Odunze to become a big-play weapon with high-end starter volume, I'm betting Loveland will be the team's WR1 or WR2 and potentially a top-15 fantasy WR with the label of a tight end.

Injuries slowed him early, but Loveland posted a record breaking pace over the final four games.
