The Patriots say they have big plans for Douglas in the slot this year. That tells us rookie Kyle Williams and Kayshon Boutte are likely competing for targets at split-end and either option may handle the flanker role if Stefon Diggs isn't ready to begin the year.
Look for Drake Maye to deliver an even three-way split in targets to Douglas, Williams, and Boutte, but with Douglas earning the high-percentage work with the lowest yardage return.

He's a good athlete. He ran a solid 4.44 40-yard dash and posted very impressive jumps of 39.5" vertical and 11'02" broad. He's been a solid slot target for two years in the NFL and now gets Drake Maye for a full season and an offensive coordinator in Josh McDaniels, who has historically heavily utilized his slot receivers.
