Higgins limited, Chase in protocol; Meyers has 'stranglehold' on No. 3 WR spot
Bengals WR Tee Higgins (abductor) is limited Wednesday and WR Ja'Marr Chase remains in the concussion protocol, head coach Zac Taylor said before practice, leaving both in the mix for Sunday's game at Miami, as is rookie WR Colbie Young (knee), who was hurt on the first snap of his first NFL start Sept. 27 at Pittsburgh. "I thought it was going to be longer term than it was... I'm not ready to declare when that will be, though," Taylor said of Young. No matter the status of Chase and Higgins, rookie WR Dohnte Meyers will get plenty of reps after a career day of seven catches for 82 yards last Sunday, with Taylor saying of his make-miss ability, "he's as close to Ja'Marr as we've probably had." S Bryan Cook (ankle) and S Kyle Dugger (quad) did not practice Wednesday, while DT B.J. Hill (Achilles), who missed the last three games, is expected back this week.

Bengals S Bryan Cook (ankle) and backup S Kyle Dugger (undisclosed) did not practice on Wednesday, but head coach Zac Taylor is not ruling them out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, saying both went through the morning walkthrough and "We'll just take it day-to-day with those guys." Rookie WR Colbie Young (knee) has been ruled out, and Taylor said the team will evaluate next week whether Young has to go on injured reserve. Rookie WR Dohnte Meyers appears to have the No. 3 receiver role while also being listed as the kick and punt returner. With CB Jalen Davis (hamstring) placed on IR on Tuesday, CB Dax Hill moves from outside to nickel and D.J. Ivey is now listed at outside cornerback opposite DJ Turner II.
Colbie Young ruled out vs. Jaguars, Meyers played career-high 32 snaps
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor ruled out rookie WR Colbie Young (knee) for Sunday's game against the Jaguars on Monday and is not sure of a timeline for his return. Young was hurt on the first snap of his first NFL start in Sunday's loss to the Steelers, and WR Dohnte Meyers played a career-high 32 snaps, catching three of five targets for 29 yards. "I thought that he did a great job of doing the things we need to do to be functional on offense with Colbie going down," Taylor said of Meyers. Taylor is also unsure about the status of starting S Bryan Cook and backup S Kyle Dugger and hopes to know more Wednesday.
Colbie Young suffers knee injury, return 'doubtful' vs. Steelers
Bengals WR Colbie Young suffered a knee injury during Sunday's game against the Steelers, and his return is doubtful. The Bengals' receiving corps was already without WR Andrei Iosivas, who is on injured reserve with a thumb injury. Rookie WR Dohnte Meyers is expected to take on an even bigger role.
