Croskey-Merritt out vs. 49ers after re-injury, White and Ekeler cleared
Commanders RB Jacory "Bill" Croskey-Merritt (groin) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Monday night's game at the 49ers. Head coach Dan Quinn said Croskey-Merritt re-injured the groin he originally hurt in August, adding, "That's harder, on the same injury. We'll work really hard to get him back." RBs Rachaad White (shoulder) and Austin Ekeler (chest) were cleared to play, while RB Jeremy McNichols was a full participant all week and is questionable as he waits to come off injured reserve. "Having a combination of guys," Quinn said, "is what we'll lean on right now."
Jeremy McNichols expected to have 'a full practice load this week'
Commanders RB Jeremy McNichols, who was worked back into practice last week, "should have a full practice load this week," head coach Dan Quinn said on Thursday. Quinn gave the same update for CB Trey Amos and S Nick Cross. Washington visits San Francisco on Monday night.
Rachaad White (shoulder) expected to return to practice this week
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said on Monday that RB Rachaad White (shoulder), RG Sam Cosmi (concussion) and S Nick Cross (internal) should return to practice this week. Among players on injury lists, Quinn said CB Trey Amos (ankle), DE Deatrich Wise Jr. (quad) and RB Jeremy McNichols (quad) have a chance to practice.
Three start season on reserve lists
Washington Commanders CB Trey Amos (ankle) and RB Jeremy McNichols (quadriceps) were placed on the Reserve/Injured list Sunday, Aug. 30, but will be designated to return. The team also placed DE Deatrich Wise Jr. (quadriceps) on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list.
