Coleman is better suited than R.J. Harvey to take over as the team's primary runner if J.K. Dobbins gets hurt. An impressive preseason debut opened the door for Coleman to secure an early-season role.

Coleman gets a lot of love for his size, production, and workload at Washington. Despite stats that people use to portray power and contact balance, Coleman doesn't perform to expectation in this area.
Coleman also lacks explosion. He'll be a part of Denver's committee backfield. Without injuries, Coleman will likely be the third wheel and least productive of the trio.
Give Coleman enough touches, and he'll have fantasy value in a good Denver offense. The long-term corollary is that with enough touches, Coleman will demonstrate that Sean Payton and the Broncos will need another back who does what they pictured Coleman will do.

Denver Broncos RB Jonah Coleman has been 'work[ing] his way up the depth chart' and could have a role in the regular season, according to ESPN's Jeff Legwold, who adds that Coleman continues to get reps with the first- and second-team offenses.
