Mahomes, Rice off injury report; LT Josh Simmons out, Delane 'set to play'
Chiefs LT Josh Simmons (back) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at the Dolphins after not practicing all week, leaving undrafted rookie Kahlil Benson to start at left tackle again. Rookie CB Mansoor Delane (shoulder) is off the injury report and set to play after full practices all week; he was available only on an emergency basis in last week's game against the Colts after aggravating the shoulder in the Week 1 win over the Broncos. S Chamarri Conner is officially doubtful after a limited practice on Friday, though head coach Andy Reid said Conner won't play. QB Patrick Mahomes (knee), WR Rashee Rice (knee), DT Chris Jones (calf) and CB L'Jarius Sneed (knee) are among those off the injury report and set to play.
Mansoor Delane's shoulder injury a short-term issue
Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the current belief is that cornerback Mansoor Delane suffered only a short-term shoulder injury during Monday night's win over the Broncos. Rapoport noted that Delane's X-Rays and CT scans came back clean. Delane was also set to undergo an MRI on Monday.
Rookie CB Mansoor Delane set for MRI on shoulder
Chiefs first-round pick Mansoor Delane went to the locker room with a shoulder injury during the Broncos' second offensive possession in the Chiefs' Monday night win. Head coach Andy Reid did not have an update on his condition after the game, and Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that he will have an MRI on Tuesday.
