McLaurin remains the reliable anchor of this Washington offense. He consistently gives you steady target numbers and a safe floor, which is exactly what quarterback Jayden Daniels needs as he continues to settle into the league. He might not have the highest ceiling anymore, but you always know what you are getting with him.

Jayden Daniels will be under center a lot more in David Blough's offensive scheme. We'll also see more play-action deep shots.
This could benefit Terry McLaurin, who still has excellent vertical speed at this stage of his career. The concern is winning enough deep shots against two-high shells of the NFL, Daniels' accuracy off drops from center, and McLaurin's 7 games missed not being the start of a bad trend at his age.
The Commanders don't seem concerned. They intend to target McLaurin 10 times per game, which would be a 27 percent increase of his career rate.
I'm more concerned about the umbrella coverage limiting Washington's expectations and keeping McLaurin at a rate of production we've seen for most of his career.

Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin said he will move around the formation more this season. 'I can go left, right, I can go vertical because I can still run by you,' McLaurin said. 'I can stop or I could go in. Just having those type of variations in your route tree is just an unbelievable weapon to have as a receiver.'
