Matt Waldman
Demercado has good speed and skills with man/gap blocking (Power, Trap, Toss, and Duo). He fell out of favor with the Cardinals after making a mental error near the goal line last year that lead to a turnover.
Demercado likely begins 2026 as the Chiefs' RB2. Rookie Emmett Johnson is more long-term upside and will likely force his way into the Kansas City rotation. Look for Johnson to become a greater factor by mid-November if the backfield remains health.
If Kenneth Walker gets hurt, expect a committee with Demercado and Johnson and the leader in volume to flip-flop as the season unfolds.
