Three start season on reserve lists
Washington Commanders CB Trey Amos (ankle) and RB Jeremy McNichols (quadriceps) were placed on the Reserve/Injured list Sunday, Aug. 30, but will be designated to return. The team also placed DE Deatrich Wise Jr. (quadriceps) on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list.

Washington Commanders RB Jeremy McNichols (quadriceps) has been sidelined for several days because of a quadriceps injury and does not have a timetable for his return, according to a source.
Washington likely to use RB committee situation
Washington Commanders RBs Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Jeremy McNichols are the top two returning backs for the team. They added RBs Jerome Ford and Rachaad White in offseason transactions, while also adding RB Kaytron Allen in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. The team is also intrigued by undrafted rookie RB Robert Henry Jr. The team hasn't had a No. 1 running back in a while, and it appears the team will enter the season with a running back by committee situation.
