Warren enters the season as Pittsburgh's clear lead back alongside Aaron Rodgers, where he is projected to assume a heavy pass-catching role out of the backfield while newly acquired physical runner Rico Dowdle handles the complementary ground and goal-line work.

Look for Dowdle and Jaylen Warren to split the workload almost 50/50. Both catch the ball well, but Warren will be more efficient after the catch where as Dowdle is the more physical runner between the tackles.
If one of these two backs gets hurt, we might see Kaleb Williams -- especially if Dowdle gets hurt. If Warren gets hurt, Dowdle could earn fantasy RB1 volume.

Rico Dowdle's arrival could cap Warren's upside while increasing the risk he won't be a reliable dynasty RB2. Warren was RB18 in PPR formats last season, two spots behind Kenneth Gainwell, who has moved on. He was the RB39, well behind Najee Harris in 2024, but finished three spots ahead of Harris in 2023 as the fantasy RB20.
