Staff Eliminator Picks, Week 1

Footballguys Staff's Staff Eliminator Picks, Week 1 Footballguys Staff Published 09/09/2021

This has been a very popular feature, so this year Footballguys once again is presenting the Eliminator Pool Challenge, where staffers have to pick a team to win each week.

Just one? That sounds easy, but here is the catch – you can only pick the team you choose in a given week once all season long.

Many contests and pools out there get pretty big, so an Eliminator (or Survivor) Pool can go 18 weeks.

Here are the specifics:

  • Lasts until one person is alive
  • Pick one winner per week
  • If you are correct, you stay alive
  • If you are wrong, you are eliminated
  • If you miss a week, you are eliminated
  • You can only use each NFL team once
  • If all of the people still alive lose, those people come back the following week
  • When one person remains (this person is the champion), the game will restart for fun

Comments

Out of the gate, we see two staffers (Cummins and Carey) picked Jaguars. You don't often see last year's worst team get love in Week 1. But of course, Jacksonville is favored against the Texans, who almost everyone agrees is the worst team in the league.

Most Common Picks

  • San Francisco - 7 picks
  • LA Rams - 7 picks

Good luck this weekend!
