IDL and Edge Streaming Matchups, Week 12

Joseph Haggan's IDL and Edge Streaming Matchups, Week 12 Joseph Haggan Published 11/22/2023

The Week 11 article for IDL and Edge streaming matchups was a mixed bag of results. Azeez Ojulari put up a goose egg, though Casey Toohill came away with a sack. Jonathan Bullard laid down a dud, but Alim McNeill had a strong game with another sack. Our sleepers were the same. Keanu Benton had four tackles, and Von Miller was held out of the box score. With a few teams on a bye for Week 12, here are the top IDL and Edge streaming matchups.

IDL and Edge Streaming Options

Edge, Anfernee Jennings, New England Patriots

Matchup: New York Giants - Ranked 22nd in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings

When any mention of Edge defenders was brought up for the Patriots this off-season, all eyes were on Josh Uche. Bill Belichick decided to be his normal hateful self towards IDP and throw a wrench in everyone's plans. Jennings seems to have finally stepped up his game and has earned the lion's share of snaps out of the Patriots Edge defenders. He has seen a massive 68% snap share and has played well.

Jennings has seven tackles in the Patriots Week 10 game before their Week 11 bye and has five or more tackles in five of the eight games he has played. Though he has not been explosive in the sack department, his matchup for Week 12 should provide ample opportunity. The Patriots take on the Giants, who have been abysmal in pass blocking. They have allowed a league-most 63 sacks. That is 12 more than the team with the second most. Fire Jennings up with confidence.

Edge, Andrew Van Ginkel, Miami Dolphins

Matchup: New York Jets - Ranked 29th in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings

Van Ginkel is the Alex Anzalone of the Dolphins. He has luscious locks of blonde hair, and his play is solid, though unspectacular. Still, he plays well enough and sees enough volume to make him a streaming asset in a pinch. He has played 63% of the team's defensive snaps, mixing in both as an Edge defender and off-ball linebacker. This role has allowed him a decent tackle floor, recording at least five tackles in five of the 10 games he has played.

Van Ginkel also has four sacks on the season, just one-and-a-half shy of his career-high. The Dolphins square off with the Jets in Week 12. The Jets have allowed the third most sacks on the season with 40. Tim Boyle has the nod to start for the Jets, which could be better or worse for the team. Either way, it is a good week to stream Van Ginkel.
