Here are some players to consider picking up this week, if available, to get ahead of the other managers in your league. These players include potential bye-week fill-ins, players returning from injury, and defenses to consider in advance.
Week 12 Byes: Chargers, Broncos, Dolphins, Commanders
Welcome to Week 12 - it is coming down to the wire when it comes to making the fantasy playoffs, so stay on it. Here we go!
Beat the Waiver Wire: No-Brainers
In most leagues, these guys aren't available. But if you're fortunate enough to see them on the waiver wire, grab them.
QB Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers (75% rostered on Sleeper)
Welcome back, Brock Purdy, who threw for 200 yards and three touchdowns in a win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 11. The next couple of games aren't great, and then they have their bye week, but if you can hold onto him, you will be rewarded with a fantastic fantasy playoff schedule. Purdy gets the Titans, Colts, and Bears.
Beat the Waiver Wire: Quarterbacks
QB Jacoby Brissett, Arizona Cardinals (37% rostered on Sleeper)
It is rough out there for quarterbacks with so many injuries and random disappointing weeks from overall stellar performers. However, in every week that Brisett has started, he has been a top-10 quarterback, including two QB3 finishes. He set the NFL record in Week 11 with 47 completed passes, and that was with Marvin Harrison Jr. out, dealing with his appendix surgery. If you can snag Brissett, you can play him this week against the Jaguars, who have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season. They also get the Bengals in the final week of the fantasy season.
Just a reminder to check your waiver wire for: Joe Burrow (76%)
