The Footballguys IDP Matchup Spreadsheet tracks trends around the league to help evaluate IDP matchups for each week.

When I look at matchups for this week, these are the matchups that look MOST FAVORABLE from a tackling perspective (with some notes if the matchup is particularly unfavorable for run vs pass):

  • TENNESSEE (vs LA Chargers) – Chargers offense generates 53.0 tackle opps/game (25 rush/25.5 pass)
  • MINNESOTA (vs Detroit) – Lions offense generates 52.6 tackle opps/game (29 rush/22 pass)
  • ARIZONA (vs Dallas) – Cowboys offense generates 52.5 tackle opps/game (25 rush/26 pass)
  • NY GIANTS (vs San Francisco) – 49ers offense generates 51.9 tackle opps/game (25 rush/25 pass)
  • ATLANTA (vs New England) – Patriots offense generates 51.8 tackle opps/game (27 rush/21 pass)

In contrast, these matchups look LEAST FAVORABLE from a tackling perspective (with some notes if the matchup is particularly unfavorable for run vs pass):

  • CHICAGO (vs Cincinnati) – Bengals offense generates 43.9 tackle opps/game (19 rush/23 pass)
  • INDIANAPOLIS (vs Pittsburgh) – Steelers offense generates 44.1 tackle opps/game (22 rush/21 pass)
  • LA CHARGERS (vs Tennessee) – Titans offense generates 44.5 tackle opps/game (20.5 rush/20 pass)
  • DETROIT (vs Minnesota) – Vikings offense generates 45.7 tackle opps/game (22 rush/20 pass)
  • JACKSONVILLE (vs Las Vegas) – Raiders offense generates 45.7 tackle opps/game (24 rush/19 pass)

You may also want some help picking out matchups for pass rushers. These are some that look MOST FAVORABLE from a pass-rush perspective:

  • LA CHARGERS (vs Tennessee) – Titans offense allowing 4.3 sacks/game
  • DETROIT (vs Minnesota) – Vikings offense allowing 4.0 sacks/game
  • ATLANTA (vs New England) – Patriots offense allowing 3.5 sacks/game
  • DALLAS (vs Arizona) – Cardinals offense allowing 3.4 sacks/game

In contrast, here are some matchups that look LEAST FAVORABLE from a pass-rush perspective:

  • HOUSTON (vs Denver) – Broncos offense allowing 1.0 sacks/game
  • PITTSBURGH (vs Indianapolis) – Colts offense allowing 1.1 sacks/game
  • ARIZONA (vs Dallas) – Cowboys offense allowing 1.3 sacks/game
  • WASHINGTON (vs Seattle) – Seahawks offense allowing 1.3 sacks/game
  • NEW ENGLAND (vs Atlanta) – Falcons offense allowing 1.4 sacks/game
  • CAROLINA (vs Green Bay) – Packers offense allowing 1.4 sacks/game
