Rundown
Barion Brown is a trailblazer. The WR9 in the 2022 class, Brown became the highest-rated receiver to ever sign with Kentucky, turning down offers from schools like Alabama and LSU. He was an immediate impact player, returning a kick for a touchdown in his first game. That return was the first of his SEC-record six career kick return touchdowns. Brown was an all-purpose star in high school, playing two ways and seeing time at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver. His special teams production earned him multiple All-SEC awards, while he left Kentucky after three years inside the Top 10 for school receiving yards. Liam Coen was Brown's offensive coordinator with Kentucky in 2023.
Brown is a fluid athlete who works best after the catch. He showcased the ability to stretch the field in addition to his impact on the quick-passing game, and contributed in the run game as well. He should test well, given his background as a track champion. Despite his physical ability, he never reached his ceiling, struggling in contested situations. He should be in the conversation as a Day 2 pick based on potential alone, though development is needed.
