Scouting Report
Cash Jones walked on at Georgia after a standout career at Brock High School in Texas. Buried behind NFL talent on back-to-back National Championship-winning teams, Jones was kept primarily on the scout team his first two seasons. His role grew in 2023, but he flashed as a receiver more than as a pure running back, which pushed him into a unique role. Over his last two seasons, Jones developed into a reliable third-down back, logging more receptions than rushing attempts.
Jones has a desirable motor and contact balance, but his lean frame isn't suitable for a between-the-tackles workload. He averaged less than one rushing attempt per game over the last two seasons, clearly limited. As a receiver, however, Jones can win at every level. He has the suddenness to get open in the short game and refinement and ball skills to corral balls deep downfield. He's also a great pass blocker, using a mix of effort and sound fundamentals. His most realistic NFL path is as a passing-down specialist who cross-trains at slot rather than as a true rotational running back.
Rundown
Jones is a passing-down specialist whose receiving and pass-protection skills give him a chance to carve out a role, but his limited rushing volume and size likely push him toward a hybrid RB/slot projection.
