Scouting Report
Colbie Young's path to the 2026 draft has been complex. He was set to attend the University of Albany until COVID limited the number of available scholarships in 2020. He took a gap year and ended up at Lackawanna. After a breakout campaign, he transferred to Miami, where he became an immediate key piece. After two seasons, he opted to play at a higher level, moving to Georgia for what he thought would be his final season. His 2024 was derailed by a domestic violence charge, ending his season after five games. The Diego Pavia JUCO ruling allowed him an additional season, and Georgia cleared the charges, allowing Young to return for 2025. A fractured leg midseason looked to end his college career, but Young was able to return for the Sugar Bowl against Ole Miss. Young drew buzz during Shrine Bowl practices.
Young is a possession receiver who uses his length to shield defensive backs and is a red-zone threat. His route tree was limited to outside routes -- vertical shots, out-breaking routes, and screen opportunities. Lacking quick twitch, Young could struggle to generate separation against NFL corners. He is likely an UDFA.
Rundown
Young is a possession receiver with good size for the position who worked exclusively outside. Injuries and legal trouble have cost him valuable time in his development.
