Scouting Report
Coleman Bennett comes from an NFL pedigree. His father, Donnell Coleman Jr., was a second-round pick in 1994. Bennett's collegiate career began at Bucknell, where he made immediate contributions while maintaining a strong academic standing. After three seasons at Bucknell, Bennett transferred to Rice, although he only suited up for four games there. He transferred to Kennesaw State for his redshirted senior year, where he immediately became the team's top backfield option. He was voted team captain and graduated from school with a perfect GPA.
Bennett's physicality shows up quickly on film. He runs with an aggressive demeanor, consistently fighting through contact and shedding arm tackles. Although he regularly bullies open-field defenders in one-on-one matchups, he doesn't have the leg drive to push piles on inside runs. Bennett played some receiver early in his college career, and those pass-catching traits show when he runs routes out of the backfield. Against NFL-level athletes, he's unlikely to overpower defenders the way he did at the FCS and mid-major level. Still, Bennett is a well-rounded back whose toughness, intelligence, and broken-tackle ability could make him an appealing depth option for coaching staffs.
Rundown
Coleman Bennett is an impressive athlete with a punishing run style, but a jump from weak college conferences to the pros could quickly expose flaws in his game.
